Not sure why he was ever left out to be honest, I thought we were going to sign him a partner last summer.

Last bit was interesting about concentrating on football. Suggests he may of been a bit of a cunt off the field.

Yeah I wondered about that. Doesn't seem the type.

Also that statement about him not being in the PSG team when we signed him - apparently (I've read it, can't be arsed to check myself) Sakho played 34 games the previous season for PSG.

The 'devote himself the the profession' is the bit that caught my eye. Sounds like he hasn't been devoting himself to the profession to the extent that Hodgers feels is a sufficient level of devotion to constitute a previous devotion to the profession.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

He wasn't going to be first choice or play the same number of games as they had Silva & Alex as first choice then signed Marquinhos the summer we got him. So I can't say number of games he played previous year, but it was always going to be less.

“What he has been given here is an opportunity. Hopefully now he can really devote his time to the profession and make sure he’s fully fit to play games.”

His number of injuries could be partly down to off field issues - I think that's the point. Not living as a professional should.

Thats such a "There's more to this, draw your own coclusions" statement. It sounds a bit unprofessional to me.

I'm getting a bit tired of all this hidden meaning **** that Rodgers keeps coming out with recently. Its deflection away from him, and its getting a bit tired already.

Brendan appears to enjoy sneaking in sly digs at players. Not a big fan of it to be honest.

I do wonder though if what he is doing is clever in that he always gives the press something to write. He's been treated much better than say Rafa or in some ways even Dalglish in terms of coverage of his tougher times.

A less favourable interpretation is that all interviews are really for our own players and he's always playing mind games.

Same here. Maybe he should heed his own words and show a bit more devotion to his own profession by keeping any potential issues in house rather than dropping little digs about players.
