I think it's simply a case of Brendan wanting to play who *he* signs, I know stuff has been made of this committee bollocks but ever since Beendan came in we've seen this treatment of players that didn't look like they where his choice.
It started with Sahin, then more recently there's been Manquillo, Sahko to a lesser extent Balotelli, Assaidi wasn't amazing but wasn't given a chance, im sure there's a few more but to be quite frank I can't be arsed to think of them now.
