According to reports, Emre Can and his agent want a release clause written into the new contract, if he is to sign it.

It all seems non-sensical to me as to why the club won't put it in and then sell him off to Juve for £50m (as opposed to lose him on a free) unless you bring a Prem league rival into it, in which case you can understand the club's stance.

Pretty sure that JWH said that release clauses are not worth the paper they're written on, and that LFC wouldn't be putting them in contracts any more.

Not that I can be arsed to find the quote.
      Oh I don't know.

Still, you have a £70m asset that you could potentially lose on a free. Plus, you would have to spend another £50m to replace (Jorginho?). Those are some serious figures even with the inflated market. You'd think there'd be a bit of flexibility with the figures involved.

          Assuming you're right, of course.

i'm pretty sure he's gone otherwise he'd have signed a contract with us by now.

Whilst I like him/prefer him to stay, I don't think he's currently pivotal to this side.

Interesting only Juventus apparently interested in him.....

Either his agent has someone else up his sleeve and they're keeping it quiet till end of season to not cause any uproar (ie it's a prem team (I could see it being City or Chelsea) and all parties have agreed to keep it quiet till the summer) or the only interest is from Juve and they are holding out for someone bigger/using the Juve interest to try and lure us or someone else out to make a bigger offer

for what it's worth, he'd tear it up in Italy but I don't see him being pivotal at say city/real/Bayern/barca

I agree, I'd rather he stayed, but with Keita coming in, it's less of a problem. We could also someone more agile at times.
                * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Seeing a few tweets suggesting he's buying a house in Liverpool.

Must be signing for big Sam and the Bramley-Moore Dock revolution

All came from Andy Heaton, who said that he's bought the house that he's already living in (previously renting)

Interesting, since the first whispers of Coutinho maybe going were when he didn't renew the lease on his house. But with Can it's seemed obvious for ages that he's leaving, so I'd be surprised to see him stay now...

Probably just a birra business/investment with his Juve signing on fee but I'll cling to it!

There's certainly no football reason to leave, what Man City are doing this season will be us next season, just better.

Footballers could afford to buy a house every month. Not sure it means a whole lot.
