I think if he was really going to Juventus, then it would have been signed sealed and announced by now. Another option would be Bayern Munich - but again, I reckon he would have been announced by now.

If we take him at his word, then his agent is out driving up interest, looking to see who will offer him a contract. I'd imagine we will be among those discussions. The issue could be signing on fee, which his agent will get a cut of.

I'm not optimistic, but at least he is playing well.

We paid £10m for him IIRC, a release clause. But yes, even factoring that fee across his wages he's given us more than enough not to be too bothered about losing him on a free.

Well, I said it months back that the only reason you'd want a release clause is to go to a rival. Man City would be my bet, which also means he's been tapped up.

A player can only be offered a contract if he has a registration in another country within 6 months before the contract runs out.

But obviously rule around approaches are broken all the time, and we're certainly not whiter than white in that regard.

I think all the rules on tapping should just be ditched.

Everyone does it, they're rarely enforced, and actually, they are archaic and possibly contrary to employment law.
