I for one wanted to see him as our captain based on his vocal ness prior but I’m seeing none of that at present. I think he’s off & has pulled up sticks.

Making him Captain has just made me think it doesn't matter if he leaves. He's been woeful in the last 2 matches.

Apart from a handful of good performances, he's largely looking checked out for large parts of the season IMO. Think that's something that's been forgotten in among all the 'will he, won't he' stuff.
I'm not saying there's not a good player in there, of course there is (though perhaps that player will only emerge somewhere else).
The funny thing is, he's getting plenty of football this season, far more than his performances have warranted IMO, and it's only a sign of the limited options we have in the middle that appear to have contributed to that (let alone the captain's armband in a couple of matches).

Here we have a player who is stalling on a deal/running down his contract/still negotiating continuing to be selected for the first XI and being handed the armband
Seems odd at times, especially after the last couple of results.

I'd argue if he's not staying, then it'd be nice to settle this before the end of the month, but it's not like we'd be bringing in a replacement, so there's not much to be done.

He has a really great game every 4 or 5 games, does alright in most, then stinks the place out usually against lesser opposition. He won't commit to a contract, **** off then to Italia and disappear into obscurity. Unless it is a top 6 side or a European game, I am never over the moon to see his name on the team sheet. I thought Hendo immediately injected pace and directness into the game.

There wont be anything new on his contract till the summer so we should just all enjoy his occasionally beastly performances whilst he is still here and decides to put a shift in.
