Might be a very good point.

People also say GiW goes missing in away games but I think that might be in part due to a different attitude from team full stop.

I do t know enough about tactics but maybe he’s holding his position more rather than influencing the game.

For me he Gini's game is far to subtle for the majority of fans and his performances are continually undervalued and underestimated.

He breaks up play
He is always available and will readily receive the ball when tightly man marked, especially when fellow players are under pressure
He is like Bobby F extremely strong for his size. Hard to knock off the ball
His positioning always creates space for others
He can hold up the ball, turn back into the opposition and sucker in several players, then just lay the ball off. Two, three of four opposition players out of position, resulting in acres of space for us to drive forward. Its quite fascinating to watch

He can do all of those things, I agree. He doesn't do them very often though. His 'breaking up play' stats are so often poor, no tackles or no interceptions. The fact that he's had less touches than Mignolet in at least two games (that I remember) is unacceptable. About his body strenght, I agree he's strong, but he got outmuscled by De Bruyne once in a dangerous position when City had that counter and it nearly cost us.

For the record, I thought he was really great vs City. But the last time he's played that well was vs Arsenal, in the second round. Honestly can't think of another game Whether we keep or sell him, I wouldn't mind either way, but if he stays he'll surely be behind Keita, Ox, Can (if he stays), Lallana and whoever else we might sign in the summer.

I hear what you are saying....but breaking up play isnt all about tackles and interception statistics. There's other things, closing down the player. closing down the spaces, marking the man, etc.....
