Why would Euro giants want anything to do with a player about as good as Tim Cahill?

I still think he is a very good player and I'd be happy with him back here but I think we will correctly pass on resigning him. Juve take him on a free - give him a year to see if he fits with them and they'll sell him for £30/£40m making a tidy profit whilst buying the next freebie (Ramsey & Rabiot).
I suspect he'll end up back in Germany with Bayern or Dortmund

We clearly didn't think he was good enough to fight to keep. Juve had a look and decided, nah! What makes you think 'he is still a good player' (by that I mean a CL level player)? Or that Bayern will be interested? They will have their own problems trying cancel Coutinho's salary by January!Originally posted by Irishnev View PostI still think he is a very good player and I'd be happy with him back here but I think we will correctly pass on resigning him. We wanted to keep him, but couldn't guarantee he would play in his preferred No.6 position.Originally posted by BigChief View PostWe clearly didn't think he was good enough to fight to keep. Juve have changed manager and Sarri has a specific style that Can doesn't fit.
To suggest he's not a CL level player is silly. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Pass.
Too slow without the ball, too slow with the ball, doesn't have the drive to force a midfield, doesn't have the guile to drive the midfield.......the little I've seen of Juve since the went there didn't seem to alter that, and clearly they've had enough (or at least figured they can make a bit of dough).
Doesn't mean he's a bad player by any means, but I suspect he's one who'll always have that 'if he could just improve that aspect of his game' feel about him. I'm all for a squad game (specially with our slender profile), but he'd always be a bench player with better options around (and yet, he's not the sort who would change a game for you from the bench)."I will make the boys feel your support"

Agree. There isn't the need for re-signing him atm but that doesn't mean he's not a great player.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostI still think he is a very good player and I'd be happy with him back here but I think we will correctly pass on resigning him. Other than for hyperbolic effect, I don't see how anyone could so poorly remember him as a bad player. He simply wasn't, he was a good player for LFC and one we would have tried to keep if Klopp could convince him to extend his contract.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!
