It was annoyingly obvious they had something sinister planned to make Suarez look bad again though. We were frustratingly naive in dealing with it again. We just made a difficult situation worse time and time again.

Exactly, there's a possibly of both being true. It's a very nuanced case unfortunately cast amongst 2 sets of partisan fans who find it difficult to be neutral and objective.
