He’s had a relatively poor season this year in comparison to the one before though right.....any chance he was a one season wonder? Nearly joined Milan for €80m in the summer.

Is possible, but then again he does not have any quality around him in the team. They have an average to poor midfield and the same to support him up front.

I think he may well be a good player, maybe even a very good one, but I think he would need the same sort of system and quality around him as Firmino does for his talent to shine.

Me saying Firmino needs a system or talent around him to shine is no knock on Firmino either. Is more a case of me saying that sometimes a top class player like Firmino needs top quality around him so that he can play with players on his own level and possibly enhance the game of those players.


I don't think Belotti is anywhere close Firmino's current level (but he may have the ability to turn out to be a really good striker in his own right) and he does have a different skill set despite the similarities in workrate, positioning etc. But I suspect he may be in a similar sort of place to what Firmino was in when he joined us with players around him that he cannot make look better and players around him that cannot read the game as quickly as him.

He’s a complete enigma to me

Start of his career I had no idea why signed an not sure what he offered, he didn’t look quick enough to be a threat and not clinical enough to be a striker and he still ha games where he misses a chance or doesn’t threaten

But in this system I wouldn’t swap him for anyone

And workrate alone is unreal

Plus he’s not all there in the head is he haha ultimate cult hero but with the performances to match

And an unreal season, I never thought he’d have 20+ goals in him
