Nowhere near as bad as Balotelli so you can just stop.

His missed sitters, however, are a big worry and his worldies don't redeem it. Cost us today, at Arsenal, vs. Palace, etc. You expect a 32m striker to be able to score from a meter away. Get your **** together.

Wasn't a fan, still not a fan. Origi will overtake him in the pecking order after this game. Deservedly.

He cost us today no mistake about it. If he scores that chance in the first half Newcastle collapse.

How many players is that that Villa have rinsed us for now?

Wonder how big of a loss well make on him in the summer?

He was dismal. Most worrying was the refusal to even bother winning battles, won a good one early in the second half but other than that he was beaten easily. Shocking movement aswell, the Moreno cross early on summed it up really.

Thought it could work and he'd be a god here but he wont last very long at all on that evidence. He'd be fine for Chelsea or Utd but we want to play football. Firmino hates him aswell I reckon, though he's got to be responsibile for his own performances but it's interesting he goes up a lot of levels when this fella isnt around.

And whats with his finishing? Scores worldies but has a growing list of sitters missed already!

The problem you have with Benteke is that he doesn't do anything but score goals. So when he doesn't actually pop up with a goal he looks proper ****e.

It gives people like Firmino and Coutinho who love to play balls in behind problems when he's stood static wanting it into feet.

Here's an idea, try passing it to his feet.

Here's an idea, when every time that happens you turns into 4 players stood level with you and lose the ball, try making a run in behind. Striking 101.

Getting bossed by Collicini is not one for the CV. He doesn't looked suited to Kloppball at all - personally I've never been that enthusiastic about him, but he has scored some good goals. As has been mentioned he does **** all else, and Origi caused more problems in the 20 mins he was on the pitch with his pace.

Intriguing. And we'd stand to lose a **** load of cash on him because no other mug will pony up £30 mill on him.

                    Loan him back to Villa.

That wouldn't stop us losing millions on him would it?

Give him crosses to feed off or people around him to win the knock ons & second balls. No one was ever ahead of him when he won a ball.

With Newcastle's centre-halves being strong and aggressive, I thought he wasn't needed today, but that was only as the first half progressed. We needed movement and fluidity to open the Newcastle defence. You saw the moment Lallana and Sturridge came on, things happened.

We seemed to try more crosses after he'd gone off than when we had him to aim for.

I always said Benteke was a good player just not for Liverpool and yet again him starting resulted in a playing approach that was never comfortable or coherent. The pity is that we're stuck with him esp as Sturridge has to be "managed" and Origi isn't ready to lead the line - though I could make a case that it would make more sense to play Origi as much as possible so to grow him into being good enough and then shift Big Ben on as soon as possible for some more suitable

if ibe and firmino could learn to cross a ball behind the newcastle defensive line [high or low] then benteke would get on it. too often the crosses didnt even come cos both of them [more so ibe] just cant release the ball before they run into a tackle or fumble under pressure [oo-er, not that].
