That header from last week was brilliant, something about a cross in and a 12 yard bullet in off the nut.
all we hope is for Benteke to be fit now.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Plus......he's got good feet for a big guy!

Like most I was skeptical about signing him but he's winning me over.
Like DannyMan, i couldnt understand how he would fit in under Brendan Rodgers system.
Under someone like Benitez, it would make perfect sense - because Benteke has all the attributes to be a brilliant lone striker, and in a 4-2-3-1 he is a brilliant guy to have up front.
It will be very interesting to see what happens if/when Sturridge ever comes back and maintains a level of fitness that enables him to play for a prolonged period. It could be a brilliant partnership and very hard to defend against. However, if Coutinho and Firmino find some brilliant form and work out how to play just behind Benteke, then I struggle to see how Klopp could get them all into the team.
One thing for sure though, we have already improved under JK. At least we now look like we know how to defend as a team. It will be very exciting to see how the team progresses from here. We have Palace and Man City as out next 2 league games but then looking at the fixture list, December looks like a month where we could really accumulate some points - and if that coincides with us finding more fitness and form (plus please god Henderson and Sturridge will be back to full health then too) then the double header of Arsenal and Man United at Anfield on the 12th / 16th of January could be brilliant.
I have said it a few times that if we are within 10 points of the top of the league at Christmas, then I wouldn't discount a title challenge. Looking at our fixtures in the second half of the season, plus the fact that by then Klopp will hopefully be having us even more up to speed with his philosophy, and I think we have it in us to make it exciting. I don't think we will win it (Man City and Arsenal would both need to **** up) but it would be great to make a fist of it....

I think that was the problem with many of Rodgers signings - I don't think that there was a plan of how to use certain players. He signed players with little or no thought as to how they would fit into the side, and to be honest it showed. In the games Rodgers played Benteke there was no-one up there near him, it was obvious to many of us on here that Benteke was winning header after header but the support was so far away that the defence could let him win them and just pick up the second ball. Yesterday we were getting players close to him and picking up the knock downs and that played a big role in us winning the game. I'll be honest I didn't think that we had the right players to get the best out of Benteke (TBH we may still not have) but Klopp has seemingly found a way to make it work.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostLike DannyMan, i couldnt understand how he would fit in under Brendan Rodgers system.

As you say it will be interesting to see what happens when Sturridge is fit, he may have to play one of the roles behind Benteke, which may not be his prefered role, but if he doesn't sulk about it I think that combination could be lethal. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
