I think they are putting two and two together based on comments Wilmots made this week. He said he was more concerned by Benteke's lack of playing time than he was by Kompany's injury.

The thing is that Belgium probably have better (and more mobile) alternatives to lead the attack in Lukaku & Michy

        Man U?

I actually don't think he's THAT bad. He can do some things pretty well. He SO reminds me of Torres when he signed for Chelsea and seemed to want to justify his price tag by dribbling the ball into the net rather than just finishing it.

Would also like to see two up front with Studge at some point.

After watching Benteke lately is Klopp trying to make him part of a more fluid front three , rather than the centre focal point.

Seems to be working channels and moving across the front three more , coming deeper laying the ball off .

He was balls again really wasn't he?

Tried a bit harder, ran around a bit more... Played a nice pass...But not the effort or quality required, needs to keep improving if he wants to get a start. Never seems to break sweat or lose his rag or look pissed off.

Would be nice if he could sink West Ham and score a goal our 2.
            Modifying post.

He was still a big steaming pile of horse dung. Don't let a nice pass fool you

I thought there was some signs of improvement tbh, he was taking up decent positions, albeit not close enough to goal, but he was more involved and I thought he was a little bit less static. I thought he was sometimes overlooked even though he was in decent positions.
                * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

He was nonchalantly shrugging people off the ball like they weren't there. And having a run at central defenders with the confidence that he can easily get past them (even though he didn't). Not seen that since his Villa days. His hold up play wasn't too bad either.

He was still rubbish, but these other as yet unseen aspects of his game came as a nice surprise. Fingers crossed against Wham.

He dribbled past a whole 17 players all last season. He was never good at dribbling.

I thought he was alright last night when he came on, worked harder than normal and showed some good touches and strength.

His movement is still very poor though but he worked the channels well. It's confidence with Benteke, he doesn't look confident or happy. If he was I think we'd see more from him and improved movement.

I dont get this confidence argument

                        Confidence affects touch, shooting etc...

It doesnt stop you being a lazy **** and it doesnt give you the desire to get on the end of stuff in the box

The problem is that he'd rather move towards the ball than play on the last man (just like Balotelli). This will only work for us if we have someone else on the pitch that will play off the last man and stretch the play.

Until we see that - I won't right him off. But I don't think he's a good option on his own up front.

I thought he was pretty bad, every time we had the ball in dangerous areas he never looked to make any direct runs into the box, instead he'd drift out wide or drop back.

Definitely not good enough. He should be and will be sold in the summer (imo) probably alongside Sturridge. We'll take a large financial hit but it also shows why we're going balls deep (hopefully) in getting Texeira.

We need at least one world class striker at the club next season. Ings and Origi will complete the squad.
