Bad spells happen, though it's time to snap out of it! We'll be 1 point off our supposed target at worst after this weekend and on track for our second highest points total in 8 years. Not exactly anything to celebrate but progress all the same.
Yeah I've consoled myself with similair - this is our bad run, the same as Poch, Mourinho, Guardiola and (snigger) Koeman have had before us. It doesn't make it easier to deal with, especially when you can see the issues are glaringly obvious.

It feels like the same ol all the same - decent record against the big clubs and slipping up against the ****. Its tiring.

Our recruitment was very short sighted, hard to know if the money was there or if it's a case where Klopp just thought we were good. I really hope it was the former as it's blatantly obvious how short we are in the squad.

I do think Klopp has underestimated the rigours and physical demand of the premier league. It's literally impossible to keep up the extreme tempo we showed the first half of the season, our players look so burned out in the last 10 games or so. The premier league is a different animal to any of league in that respect.

The results have been awful but you can except that to a certain extent if the performances are there ... but for the most part we've been putting in sub par displays. I'm a huge fan of Klopp but nobody is immune to some critiscism. IMO he either doesn't know what to do or he has that set formation and he believes it will come good. I think it's pretty clear that teams have figured out how to beat us. We huff and puff in possession but seems to run out of ideas when we get up top, the chances that we have got over the last few games we haven't been clinical enough to take. In a slump you have to grab any chance you get and make sure you take it. There genuinely seems a blueprint to beat LFC these days. Let us have possession, condense the centre of the pitch and push us out wide, we inevitably either lose possession or the balls in from the wide areas are easily snuffed out & we get caught on the counter. Lost count of how many times this has happened over the last month.

Nobody including Klopp can account for individual mistakes and our season has been peppered with them. In saying that though there are things that should have been boxed off, the keeper situation is an absolute disaster, we are dreadfully short of another CB, a DM to take the burden off Hendo and our leaky defence is absolutely imperative, more pace and width a player in the ilk of Mane & of course a goal scorer. Our high intensity play earlier in the covered this up.

I did think we would try to address some of these issues in the January window but for one reason or another that didn't happen. You may say the window isn't great or certain players aren't available but like Suarez, Vidic, Matic, Evra, Arteta, Sturridge, Masch etc shows there are players to get had in this window. I did think it was vital we bolster our ranks but that didn't happen.

We are still there and there abouts but ffs are we playing ****. Whether it's cutting out individual mistakes, player performance improving, changing setup and formation or whatever .... a few more games of this and top 4 will slip away. We've already done damage that but we can stop the rot. Ultimately it's down to Jurgen Klopp and this is where we will see how good of a manager in the premier league he really is.

Don't think teams are intentionally trying to push us out wide

              ****ing stupid if they are

When I played you were always taught to bring people inside were you had numbers

What I think it happening is we aren't exploiting those areas as we should be

Need to switch the play quicker to exploit are width in wide areas

I'm sure Mr stato aka michael edwards will help find the right players for Klopp

I don't think Klopp will be able to solve all our problems in one window. I fear even if we get in the top four we may still struggle to rotate between cl and prem games.

Others may disagree but the reality is our defence is not much better than when Rodgers was here if at all. And lets be honest whilst at dortmund, barring one or two seasons, his team shipped in plenty of goals.

Yep. It's so so annoying. Got to snap out of it next weekend and drag them back, if they beat us thats another place in the top 4 gone, though I'm sure getting a positive result v them wont be a problem, naturally it's Leicester that worries me far more. Huth and Morgan on set pieces and a deep defence / midfield punting balls to Vardy to catch us out as we have 8 men forward! Yikes!

I guess we are about to find out what the manager and squad are made of! Theres really no excuse for not getting top 4 from here. No Europe compared to every top 4 rival, played Utd and Chelsea twice, all the big games apart from City are at Anfield and you cant really ask for a kinder final run to the end of the season (though thats not much use if we keep flopping v ****!). Oh and ideally top 3 not top 4, I've got a horrible feeling how a summer will go if we finish 4th without CL qualification *official*.

We have no strikers, a bang average midfield, a weak defence and **** goalkeepers.

Bright spots are we have very good attacking midfielders, wingers and one of the best managers in Europe.

Top 4 is going to be very, very tough. Not impossible but as time goes by the weaknesses in this squad become more and more evident, top 4 is looking increasingly unlikely.

Rafa will be free at the end of the season

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

We'll get out of it by mid Feb and people will wonder how they can stop us winning. Happens to all teams.

It's true that Klopp's teams over the years were never the best at defending. All I could remember of his time there is of the crazy high scoring games they used to have. Maybe we should accept that as long as we're prolific upfront, we'll be there or thereabouts. I can see what we're trying to achieve and since the start of the year the way we've been dominating games is encouraging. We just need to eradicate the mistakes that has plagued us since the Rodgers era. It has to stop.
                            Are we winning?

Why is it though, we are ineffective out there? We are too slow and predictable to go through the packed middle so we are forced out wide. We are zero threat in the air from crosses from wide areas, that is if we actually manage to cross the balls in from the wide areas. The "small" or "lesser" sides we keep screwing up against which seems standard practice now, are usually full of big lads who mop those crosses up easily... bread and butter to them.

Our wide is our fullbacks who we are fully reliant on to get high up the pitch and deliver balls into the box. If the fullbacks don't give us width, nobody does. Mane is the only one that can drag the play out and stretch team. If our fullbacks they get high up the pitch and the move breaks down (which it so often does) we are vulnerable for the counter. Add into that no DM to cover the counter and our defence, this has happened dozens of times in the last month and we've been punished.

It's all well and good saying exploit the width but we have Clyne who gets in great positions but his delivery is more than often below par & Milner who has to keep checking back to cross with his right foot. It's just so easy to play against us these days.

Really hope Klopp gets it right.

It's early days, he hasn't been here a wet week.
