Just sign top players, PL experience isn't required.
I don't think so, just a short term loan for emergencies it makes sense to get a guy that has PL experience.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I hope so but I don't see how the experience makes a difference. If a player is good enough he'll be good anywhere yet we went for the tried and trusted PL experience over everything else that has landed us such beauts as Lallana, Benteke, Lovren, Mignolet etc
Its like a comfort blanket for us.

Nobody is telling me Klopp went out and scouted Caulker. He asked for a CB and the TC gave him Caulker. I know hes a stop gap, emergency and all that but really, If that's the best they can do and if that's a signifier of what lies ahead then I'd be worried cos its the same profile of player that's failed repeatedly for us.
Same goes for the links to Shane Long if anything comes from them, he's not been headhunted by Klopp, no chance.

He doesn't have time right now but the scouting department and the TC do have the time, that's their job. And Caulker is the best they could come up with.
It might be nothing and the summer will tell more but it had me worried that the first player we sign, even allowing for the circumstances, happens to follow the same worthless profile of a lot of the **** that have got us in this mess.
The TC members seemingly don't have their own performance scrutinised in any meaningful way cos if they did, a few more of them might be out of a job. We've spent a staggering amount of money under this system with these people involved and got very little for it.

I agree with that to a certain extent it is the profile of players that have failed us, however I think that the Caulker deal is different for a couple of reasons, firstly it's a short term deal for a back up CB, it has cost us very little and he has experience of the PL (We don't want to bring in a player from overseas who would no sooner have adapted to the league than he'd have been on his way.)
Like it or not if that is the criteria we are looking at there are very few players out there that meet it no other PL teams will loan us their backup CBs in case they need them themselves, there is no point in bringing in someone who doesn't know the league for such a short period. Sure we could have tried to buy a top CB but it's unlikely a club would want to sell now for a reasonable price.
If we were looking to buy someone of a similar profile I would be worried, but I think the loan deal makes sense. I think a similar loan deal for a striker would also make sense even if we don't think they are good enough long term, if they could do a job now that would be enough. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

...after training we will give it 30 minutes for everyone to leave, then we will ring the delta taxi. within the hour we will be at the john lennon airport and 30 minutes later we will be sipping cold warsteiners at 30,000m on the way to munich. now schnell...removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
