If rumours are true, then Draxler turned down LFC to go to PSG. That is the kind of signing that would have been brilliant in January. But if nobody else of that ilk were available, then I support the move to keep our powder dry - just as long as we have the cash to spend in the summer.

As Klopp himself said, it would be a lot more difficult summer if we had to offload more players than we already do.

If we get 2 or 3 players that improve our starting 11, then that is real improvement. That wasn't possible in the Jan window.

I think loans were viable. I don't think we necessarily needed top level players but someone to 'do a job' by providing width would have made a significant difference. As would an extra mobile CM to take some of the load off the few players we had.

Apparently Klopp bought a kitchen when at Dortmund for 12k Euros, his wife didn't like it so he sold it on for 19k from a BVB fan.

              A supposed true story.

I'm not sold on the needing width argument. We need pace, which may or may not come from a winger's perspective. We definitely need forwards who can stretch defences and our problem is we've had Coutinho and Firmino filling up those roles while coming deep, vacating the forward positions. Because of this we've had to rely on our fullbacks to fill in those spaces, which has resulted in having an unbalance on the defensive side of things especially when we have the ball.

In our current set up and without Mane, our best formation seems to be a 442 diamond as we played on Sunday, which doesn't provide much width per se. It's narrow and I remember us using it to fantastic effect during the Suarez days.
                    Are we winning?

He had a bench with kids most of the time, a midfielder at left back, and had to deal with tons of injuries to our main players including our man striker. He was up against Guardiola, Mourinho who have spent 100s of millions of pounds on an already expensive squad. He has managed to get us fourth with all of this issues. And when we had anything approaching a full-strength first team, the football was brilliant.

Fourth is a wee bit disappointing given where we were in winter but our final league position is impressive given what he was up against. Provides us with a base to build on. He may have his flaws (on the defensive side) but we have a very special manager at our helm. Credit where its due.

Klopp on Transfers “We have already pretty much done (the work). We have to see. Most of the work is already done, of course.

“(It's not like) tomorrow with Michael Edwards we will sit together and speak about what we think we need!

“Now we have to make decisions. Negotiations need to be done. All that stuff.

“But it's all good. We are prepared, we will see what works out or not.

“There's no training in the next few weeks. We fly tomorrow night for Australia, play the game, fly back and the holiday starts for all of us.
