Mad that we start with a midfield that doesn’t pass well, doesn’t shoot on goal, doesn’t dribble past opponents, can’t handle being pressed and yet Salah gets the blame! He gets crap balls fired at him from 40 yards away and is seemingly expected to then beat 3 or 4 opponents and score.
Funny how he suddenly looks alive when Shaqiri or Keita start isn’t it? Our chance creation is regularly **** when them 3 play together away. It’s by far our biggest issue, we can get away with it at home but not away. It was crap in Rome, crap in the final, tragic last night, useless in Naples (though injury forced that), Leicester was rubbish until Shaqiri and Keita come on. Chelsea away was a decent performance but again not much of a grip in midfield. This midfield was pretty much our last resort midfield last season, for good reason with the likes of Phil, Ox and Can preferred, it’s crazy it’s suddenly first choice!
No surprise our best displays away have been with Keita starting. He needs to play now, even if he doesn’t understand the system perfectly it’s not like the rest are lighting up it!

I don't think it is as black and white as "we were ****", there's another 11 players on the pitchOriginally posted by cream View PostYeah but we were still absolute rubbish last night, no getting away from that.
I do think that the team selection was a bit too cautious, I think that whilst PSG's main weapon is their attack its silly to just focus on that. Shaqiri in there would have made them need to defend more
I also think it is a mistake dropping Gomez from CB, as he's looked absolutely outstanding there this seasonI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

They defended brilliantly or we weren't very good? As an example, our set pieces were really poor. At least we could have given them something to think about on that front.Originally posted by dom9 View PostWhy does it always have to be someone's fault?
PSG were the better team. They defended brilliantly.
It happens.
It just didn't click for us in so many areas last night but I think these games can happen especially on the big occasion away from home but it's disappointing as I thought the Watford game gave us a great springboard in order to go there and perform.
Anyway, for me, this was the exception to the rule as we have generally been very good this season.

Why does everything need to be binary?Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostThey defended brilliantly or we weren't very good? As an example, our set pieces were really poor. At least we could have given them something to think about on that front.

You can't deny that PSG were exceptional pretty much all over the pitch.Oh I don't know.

Well I didn't get to see much of them as they only played ten minutes of football and were down on the ground holding their faces for the rest.Originally posted by dom9 View PostWhy does everything need to be binary?

That's like being impressed with Celtic.... Ligue 1 is a ****ing joke, they should be winning that many games with the money they have spent and the players they have.Originally posted by Norbs View PostPSG now won 15 straight games, an all time European record across all the main leagues. Let that sink in and then add that their starting line up has M'bappe, Neymar, Cavani and Di Maria and 2-1 isn't really too bad
PSG are like City... to beat them you have to attack them hard and fast. If you show them any respect or sit back at all they will dominate you.

PSG are a top team, we have to accept that, we beat them at home and they beat us at home, hardly earth shattering, this was always going to be a tough group, probably the toughest. You have a group where all the teams are first or second in their leagues. The Red Star game away ****ed us.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
