When you dominate teams with possession and good field position so strongly in a Klopp team, almost everyone is quite advanced except for two CBs and maybe a midfielder.
Those CBs are at the half way line or thereabouts and they play a big role in dictating the tempo of the build up. Not have CBs who were excellent ball players hurt how the whole team attacked. It also made the fullbacks and midfielders more conservative than they normally were with a VVD, Gomez or Matip.
If Bobby has better service from out wide, he will score so many from inside the box. Jota also has goals in him so I don't think there is an over reliance on Salah and Mane. In any case, it's wrong to look at the midfielders in a Klopp team asking them to step up with lots of goals. The style of play is that their main roles are to either counter press high, help the CBs break up counter attacks or cover the fullbacks and pass the ball on as quickly as possible to the forwards or fullbacks.
The odd forward run and goal is a bonus for them. If Klopp wanted to have a goalscoring midfielder, he'd have deployed wijnaldum in such a role as he clearly scores goals when in a system where he is given the freedom to do so i.e Newcastle / Netherlands.
Basically, the midfielders attacking instincts are sacraficed for the freedom of our fullbacks to get high up and basically be second wingers, like an advanced right mid or left mid from the 4-4-2 days
