A bit of me thinks likewise, its not the right thing to say but it might be the right sensible approach, still the way things are going an 8th-10th placed finish is entirely likely anyway!

Why? After we win the Europa this season I want us to take the CL seriously next season

Klopp's had a little whinge about fixture congestion this season and Europa league is not going to help. Morale is always boosted by a good lesgue finish

However, CL football is literally a different ballgame. I'd love us to win the Europa and play the top compo

Of the ever-present teams in the Premier League, Everton and Manchester United are now the only clubs to have yet to lose a game they led by two or more goals at half-time. Everton have led by two or more goals at half-time 77 times (W70 D7), while Man United have done so 149 times (W146 D3).
          Those are amazing stats

I remember the United game quite well. Robbie Fowler scored for us in the first half with a typical pile driver of a shot (in fact he might have scored both of our goals).

I think that was a different game IIRC Fowler only made his debut in 1993.

I remember Fowler scoring 2 at Old Trafford in a 2-2 draw stealing the show in Cantona's comeback That's probably the game you are thinking of but I don't think we were 2-0 up in that game

Don't know about 2 nil up but we were 2-1 up and then the Cantona **** came off the bench and scored a dubiously awarded penalty.

The 92 United game must have been the 3-3 when Ruddock headed the equaliser from a peach of a Bjornebye cross

I remember that one, we were 3-0 down at home in about the first 30 mins and came back to draw 3-3.

Looking up the date on wikipedia it seems the 2-0 up back to 2-2 was at Old Trafford, Don Hutchison and Ian Rush put us 2-0 by half time and Mark Hughes scored 2 late goals for them the 2nd in the 90th minute. I can't really remember that game though.

Apart from the goals I seem to recall Ince trying the tough guy act with Ruddock and getting slapped down in tidy fashion.

Klopp delighted with life on Merseyside

Jürgen Klopp has changed many things on the pitch in his time as Liverpool manager, but the German reveals there is one thing off it that he wishes he could alter.

Klopp says he has settled into life on Merseyside well following his appointment as Reds boss in October.

Now six months into his reign at Anfield, the 48-year-old insists there is only one negative aspect to his new environment - the weather!

"It feels good," he told German media. "The surroundings are fantastic. To live right at the seaside has advantages, but also disadvantages - looking at the weather.

"You can lead a fantastic life here. People are used to my face right now where I live, and you wouldn't believe but, as a Premier League manager, life is pretty normal in England."

The boss feels his grasp of the English language has improved during his time in Liverpool and says that has made him feel more at ease on the job.

"I still can't express myself like I want to do," he continued. "But it's getting better, particularly the understanding part.

"That's incredibly helpful in all the talks I have to hold. I feel completely content in my work here."

Speaking back in his homeland, Klopp was inevitably asked about the impending reunion with his former club Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

And, while the manager's focus is currently on the weekend's crucial clash with Tottenham, he did offer a few words on what he expects from the meeting with BVB.

He added: "It's not going to be an inner battle between my old and my new love.

"It won't be a problem for me. Before I joined BVB, I had a good relationship with FSV Mainz 05. We are all aware how incredibly difficult this draw is for us.

"The way Dortmund plays commands enormous respect. But on a good day and when [we] put our plan into action, we have a chance.

"We always had a relatively good plan against teams who play football well. We will not rest anyone."
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Is the weather in Dortmund so different? Obviously it has greater extremes of cold and warmth being inland on le continent but it does rain there I'm sure. Anyway he can enjoy the long summer evenings in Liverpool.

I was in Berlin in November and it was ****ing freezing. Can't speak for Dortmund as I've never been there.

Klopp's getting at how cold the coast is. I was in Liverpool start of Feb and the missus and I were frozen, so ****ing cold especially along the Albert Docks. I had multiple layers, a hat, gloves and decent jacket on and I was still freezing.

                            Really wasn't pleasant.

Liverpool FC head of fitness and conditioning to leave

Anfield exit for Ryland Morgans after four years with Reds

Liverpool’s head of fitness and conditioning Ryland Morgans is leaving the club after four years of service.

Morgans, whose contract was due to expire this summer, has decided the time is right to pursue a new challenge.

Current Liverpool Under-21s fitness coach Andy O’Boyle will take on the first-team duties for the rest of the season.

Morgan will continue in his other role as head of fitness and sports science with the Wales national side under Chris Coleman.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will consider both internal and external candidates before making a decision on Morgans’ permanent successor prior to the start of pre-season training in July.

Morgans was brought to Liverpool by Brendan Rodgers in October 2012 with the duo having previously worked together at Swansea City.

He was a valued member of the backroom staff and was kept on by Klopp after Rodgers was sacked six months ago.

Morgans, who boasts the UEFA Pro License, had worked for Nottingham Forest, Northampton Town and Fulham before joining his hometown club Swansea in 2010.

After being lauded by Rodgers for the part he played in helping the Swans reach the top-flight, Morgans followed the Northern Irishman to Anfield.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
