I wasn't being entirely serious about that, but a lot of footballers have struggled to adjust to the food. Not least our own Mo Salah who said as much in an interview recently.

Not sure what money has got to do with it.

    Oh I don't know.

The climate must play a big part.

The climate, the culture, Suarez telling him how happy his family are in Barcelona. You can't really blame him.

The only sour point is the smoke and dagger game he played in leaving. That was a **** way to end things. We've had players pulls similar ****house tactics to move to us though so we're hypocrites if we complain.

The best of luck to him and I hope he enjoys watching the final (I think his biggest mistake was pushing for the move in Jan)

Because when a mate invites you over to dinner you slap a grand on his table and tell him to cook what the **** you want as you're the one with money. And by the way learn my language cock head here's another k.

              Surely that's how it's done?

It is strange, and money is relevant. I can't think of any type of food that I can't get my hands on within an hour, either delivered to my door or with a drive into town. I'm sure there's something but even exotoc ingredients are now easy to come by. And this is in a northern city akin to Liverpool. Living in Liverpool does not mean having to eat battered sausage or Scouse, especially with enough money to employ a chef.

Surely you'd have enough money to ensure a ready supply of fresh food from anywhere in the world and a chef to make it if you wanted.

OK, let's put it another way.

Eating out is nice. Takeaways / delivered food are nice. I personally enjoy them a lot. But every day? Not for me. Home cooked food is important.

And does everyone want to employ a chef, regardless of how much disposable income you have? I'd like my own in the house no more than I'd like a cleaner, housekeeper or butler. Would you?

Think also about the Spanish resort with British shops selling Heinz baked beans and crap sliced bread. Some people just can't live without that stuff. There's a market for it in Spain, but there wouldn't be if you went to live in Brazil. You'd have to deal with it.
                      Oh I don't know.

Sure, but we're not talking about sourcing English products in Brazil, rather Brazilian products in the UK. You can online shop whatever you want here. Food is not a genuine issue for anyone moving to the UK from anywhere in the world apart from the most lazy. It must be a combination of the other factors.

And yes I would employ a chef if I had a strict diet like a professional sportsman, they don't have to visit you and cook in your kitchen. And especially if I was missing certain foods. And i would/do also employ a cleaner.

Bottom line, if we take football loyalty out of it. Who wouldn’t want to live a millionaire lifestyle in Barcelona...?

Rio or Sao Paulo for me.

And in my retirement I'd open a chains of greasy spoons, chip shops and real ale pubs.

Basically you are talking about a chain of Wetherspoons in Brazil?
