Come on Fredo - he is a pro footballer at an elite club. No way he starts unless he is fit - added to that he was rested vs United to keep him fit. He is unreliable and while it is not his fault it is negligent from the club not to bring in a CB. I get our strategy, I get long term planning but there surely has to be an ACTUAL CB available on loan better than Phillips or Williams.

Not the same intensity playing for Schalke though to be fair.

It's Germany Fredo, not walking football.

I watched all Schalke's games after it came out we were signing him, there was no lack of intensity.

In fact I'd argue he showed more intensity than in the PL, as he often ran with the ball from the back, deep into the opponents half, something he's never done much of over here even when 'fit'.

I am not disputing the fact Matip is injury prone, just find it incredibly tedious mentioning that we need to buy one when it's clear we ain't signing one this window. We need to get on with it. We just need to keep plugging away and playing like today to avoid having to talk about it.

With Fabs injury and Matip potentially gone for months Id imagine there is time for a rethink. Absolutely catastrophic run of luck back there.

If Hendo breaks down or gets a knock we are looking at Williams and Phillips at CB and we have City in ten days.
