Algeria are quite good but I can't see Senegal not making it to the next round assuming they only need to come second.
Having come from a nation who aren't a football powerhouse (Australia) a lot of the players who play at a high level and come from 2nd/3rd tier level footballing nations tend to be absolutely idolized by their nations and can sometimes carry the sport on their shoulders. Most of the the time the guys seem to care as much for their national team as they do their club teams, so I feel as though he wouldn't be gutted to be there.96 Never Forgotten

I remember listening to a Southampton fan on a phone in to Talksport after we had signed Mane.
He was saying how gutted he was and that Mane could go on to be a world beater at Liverpool with better players around him.
I remember thinking how he seemed to be exaggerating and I can't seem to imagine it having read he was inconsistent and drifted in and out of games.
How wrong I was and how right was that fan!
This season has seen the vindication of our policy of buying Saints best players. Mane and Lallana have been 2 of our outstanding players. Clyne is great too and Lovren has obviously improved massively.Last edited by poorscousertommy; 29-12-16, 12:19 PM.

Yep, agreed. So many people were saying Mane was good 'on his day' but inconsistent. And that was the last thing we needed with Firmino, Lallana and even Coutinho having the same traits in the past.
Maybe its Klopp who's ironed those elements out of him and the others? Ps. I liked your sympathy mention of Lovren to try to get him to bask in some of the other Southampton players' glory.
One tit for another.

He shoukd be ashamed of himself... beating poor defenceless wolrds.
Im sure they wont be the last Saints players we buy. It would be interesting if they did allow ownership of other clubs, just whom we would gravitate toward. I guess they would need to get relegated first. Until then, it looks like we will continue to buy up their next half decent player. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

He's playing on Sunday, then Thursday and then the following Monday 23rd Jan - each time at 7pm. Live on Eurosport. We have to assume Algeria are strong enough to qualify. Mane's first game is against Tunisia this weekend so fingers crossed Senegal lose that match.
Best case scenario Mane could be on the plane back on Tue 24th Jan - not gonna happen though.
