I like the fact that he’s constantly whinging to be honest… might help us with the Salah negotiations, in that he’s being reminded that the grass isn’t always greener

Might help get him a loan move in January? Or he's trying to put pressure on the manager into playing him? Either way, not the sort of behavior we saw with him at Liverpool, but then he had a manager like Klopp, and they are few and far between.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI find it odd to be coming out and saying so much publicly this early on, as presumably isn't going to help the situation.

It looked like Barcelona was his dream move, I guess we don't know who turned who down in the end but with Barcelona struggling to get players registered at the start of the season not going there seems sensible. Not sure how the PSG move evolved from that, if he didn't 'research' it enough, if he was backed into a corner or didn't want to climb down and stay with us or whatever, it is looking like he made a mistake and he knows it. I find it odd to be coming out and saying so much publicly this early on, as presumably isn't going to help the situation.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostAlready?
He started his moaning to the press back in August and has not stopped since. If he is not talking about us, then he is on about Barca. The Barca one is funny because he is the one that turned them down and since then has been going on about how Barca were and are his dream club to play for.

My guess is that’s the transfer he wanted (or staying with us) he pushed us as far down the line as he could to leverage a deal with Barca, but then the Barca transfer couldn’t happen (collapsed) and he had burned his bridges with us and was left having to find a new deal elsewhere.
Just sorry we still do not have him. Would be trying to push for Newcastle to take him, Chamberlain, Philips and Origi for a chunk of that 190m they are meant to be able to spend without coming close to FFP waters.
As is I think they should give us 30m each for Philips and Origi and 40m for Chamberlain

I can see him getting less and less game time as the season goes in.
The team is built around Messi and they play a double pivot, currently Veratti & Gueye. He then has Herrera (!), Paredes and Danilo all ahead of him and a couple of youngsters vying for a place too. Then when Ramos is back fit and in the team, they might even bring Marqhuinos into midfield occasionally for the really big away games like last few years.
Gini won't get an attack midfield role as Messi obviously has that sewn up and there are plenty of other better options as PSG's disposal there too.
Wide option? No chance with Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria, Draxler, Sarabia all on the books.
He'll be pushing for an exit in January - probably loan or permanent back to Newcastle

the million euros a month into his bank account will cheer him up surely......
also, he might still keep his place in Holland.

He was a far better player than Lucas ever was.
I don't get the animosity either, he deserved to be one of the higher paid players in the squad.
Not sure he's the right fit for PSG but he could play in any team in the world. Sometimes moves just don't work out but I reckon he will turn it around.

Poor guy. A legend for us on a footing with Lucas Leiva. Unfortunately for him he was never really good enough for a star studded team. I'd be ok to see him play regularly at Newcastle on huge money if that happens.
