It’s early days for him, but it’s looking like he might go into the same bin as Can and Coutinho, who thought they were moving on to better things, and it didn’t really work out for them…

It's an odd one, if you want to go somewhere to be appreciated I think you need to either move to become a big fish in a small pond or somewhere that massive numbers of egos aren't an issue. The likes of PSG, Barcelona, Real Madrid don't seem like the right move if that is your motivation. As Norbs said It's doubtful he will be loved more elsewhere. It's almost as if that wasn't the main factor in his decision...

Oh I have no doubt that he moved for the £££ and fair play on that score as they have a short enough career so are entitled to make as much as they can when they can.

I was more mulling over how he seeminly cannot stop talking about both us and Barca since he moved and with regards to us it goes from how the fans did not treat him with respect to how the club did not make him fell wanted and what not.

With regards to Barca, a club he had agreed to join before he himself shut the move down to go to PSG, he keeps going on about how Barca are his dream club and how he would love to play for them. Errrr you had agreed to go there but you knocked it back, fella.

His performances for PSG have been ranging for very average to utterly awful so far, so one would think he would be keeping the head down and not giving interviews before PSG games in which he spends more time talking about his former club and a club he never played for more than his current club.

Whilst I am one that thought his performances for us were not great for a chunk of last season but that over the course of his career for us he was a bloody good buy, I kind of wish he would just get on with playing for PSG and not feel like he has to have a moan about LFC on such a regular basis. The Gini of the Barca semi final and other such games is how I would prefer to remember him rather than him popping up in the here and now having little pops at the club and the whingy him being the one that is easier to see.

He's not going to be loved more anywhere else. It's all about the $$$ and good luck to him

Do not disagree with anything there.

Just think he would be better served by saying less instead of giving regular interviews with negative comments about us, and also throwing in comments about his dream club wich just so happens to not be the club he himself chose to move to.


Think he would be better off not making the comments and that way he does not tarnish his reputation with us any further and he would not be getting the fans of his new club offside almost as soon as he is in the door.


The less negative he says about LFC, the focus would then be on what he did on the pitch, and history would be kind on any player whose legacy included being part of a team that won the first league title in decades, a CL and other silverware. As time went by, the less impressive perfromances of his final season with us would be forgotten, and the many impressive ones during his time here would be what he gets remembered for.

Wonder how much squad harmony plays a part in a player's move to a new club. Moving from Liverpool, where it feels like the squad just gel and get along, to a club like PSG where egos seem to be prominent must be a bit of a shock.

But I was taking it with a pinch of salt given it's so early into the season, I saw he got hooked at HT in the CL game midweek, but it seems a bit early to say something like that, unless there is something clearly wrong behind the scenes
