Gini gets in goal scoring positions every game for us, but his composure/luck in front of goal seems to be lacking, yet on the international stage he puts them away with ease. With a little upturn in fortunes, he'll slot away the chances he's been missing for us and become a genuine goal-scoring midfielder for us as well as Holland.

No debate there, my point was that no matter the opposition, he gets into the right positions for us nearly every match, but whereas for the Dutch he seems quite at ease putting these chances away, for us he seems to snatch at them, even when he has time. If he could maintain his cool head for us, he'd be 10+ goals a season better off.

Wasn't he top scorer in Dutch league before he joined Newcastle?

As someone mentioned, Estonia are cack but it just shows the level this guy is at; any drop in quality and he'll eat them for breakfast even as a midfielder. It's a bit tougher in PL and CL but you can see that he has that predatory instinct about him when he's in the box. He should be getting 1 in 4 or about 10 goals a season imo.

I think he does so much work for us in games as oppose to playing for Holland that he is more alert in front of goal. Seems so composed for the Dutch when he gets his chances but is putting in a ball busting shift for us in every game. Maybe he's just a bit bolloxed when he gets his chances for us and that's why he seems pretty abysmal at taking chances for LFC. Maybe..

Just watched the highlights. Had to explain to Mrs Plod (who is Estonian) why an LFC player is playing for the Netherlands. We’ve only just established why LFC don’t play Estonia and that’s taken a year.
