**** sake, every single time we do it, it's driving me ****ing bananas. Just stop ****ing about it yapping and trying to be clever and just ****ing drive the ball in the box you clowns.

    **** sake.
I often wondered why teams play outswingers, and we're not in the minority, but it teases the keeper off his line and a ball swinging towards you is easier to connect with than one drifting away.

Having said that, we seem to flounder at inswingers but then out keeper never gets a decision so it's fair game for all and sundry to abuse him

The amount of crosses put in last night that ended up cleared was crazy! However i think a lot of that is caused by 2 things which i noticed:
      1) our forwards are small compared to most CB’s so your standard cross is cleared unless it’s a pin point cross onto the head of our attacker. So don’t cross into a crowded box and don’t cross if you are not 100% certain you will find the forward.
      2) he also did that low super pacey pull back cross along the ground. Each time was behind the runs of the forwards. I think in this instance the idea was right but we did not have that MF running onto it from behind the forwards. So we need a Gini or Thiago to be nearer the box running onto them.

Literally all our shots were blocked yesterday! Im pleased we had the shots and that they were in target albeit weakly hit! I think we should stop camping in the opposition half and give them the ball because we’ve found no space whatsoever to run into, play into or shoot without getting through 11 bodies!

We’re not being outplayed, just stopped from playing. Let’s low block teams instead and hit them on the counter with mo & mane the out balls with burst into the box from Bobby & the 2 other MF’s!

Trent hasn't been good of late but I wonder if some of this is just that usual dip in form that players his age have, he's 22 and played a lot of games for us at a very high level so now that his form has dropped it's so noticeable. It doesn't help that it coincides with a fair few others having these drops in form.

Milner surely plays RB on Sunday. He's a lot better RB than LB and Trent needs time out. I wouldn't fancy Neco at OT at all.

I'd also like us to try Fabinho back in midfield. **** it. Something has to change. Risk Matip and Rhys at the back, and try and get a proper functioning midfield again with maybe Fab, Thiago and Gini (or Henderson if he's fit).

Midfield is the key for me.

If we ship 2 goals, at least we’ll have more chance of scoring 3.

completely agree, Trent rested and Fab has to go back into the midfield.

I know I tend to be fairly protective over the youth players but I'm not sure it's just Trent's lack of form. The whole transition piece between the different areas of play just isn't working at the moment and that's the bit that needs to be worked on. If we concentrated on the overall play style I think Trent's performance would improve, along with the rest of the team, including the forward line (where I think it's no coincidence they're all suddenly underperforming at once). Not sure changing personnel without fixing the overall problem is the answer.

I was wondering what Klopp would do if the forwards had worked last night . But that didn’t happen. As Bob mentioned I’d play big Div again. He’s come as close as anyone to getting a goal.

                  Play Taki also.

Free hit on Sunday. Nobody expecting us to get a result.

This isn't a dip of a few weeks, it's been longer than that. Anyway despite being record breaking, I'm surprised it wasn't worse tbh.

Maybe it’s a deliberate strategy to allow him to cross. It’s inviting him and packing the area. It’s easier to cross in a situation where players are free to receive the ball.

In Burnley’s case, it was obvious they wanted us to cross the ball. It was easy to deal with.

Of course it was a deliberate tactic. Let the fullbacks have the ball because we have big defenders who are going to win 95% of the aerial challenges.

all the **** sides have used this tactic against us recently and it has worked a charm, United done it, Spurs will try and do it, as will Leicester. Sit deep, condense the middle of the pitch/box, clear the ball/get possession and counter, simple but effective. Crazy to think we have become a predictable side with the array of talent we have.

We aren't a big side and most of the crosses in from either side have been hit and hope. Actually most of them have been mi**** or hit the first man.
