The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We need a big target man in the box, someone like that Andy Carroll bloke at Newcastle

Don't think we do and I hope we never do.

I bet on you that once that rut has gone away, we'll be saying again how great we are.
        Are we winning?

Andy Carroll, back to full fitness could do a job for us at the moment and also add some much needed height both ends of the pitch at set pieces.

I am happy to ask the stupid question: what is the answer when you play teams that pack their box, those players defend the right areas, and those players are decent in the area? It surely can't be as crude as playing a big player up top or shooting from outside the penalty area. In the olden days it used to be to get to the byeline so that defenders are made to face their own goal. Is that still it?

Any "crosses" need to be more of a cut back directly to a player and low and hard, or a defence splitting pass for a forward to run on to.

When teams pack the box and go for the low block tactic then we are never going to have enough big lumps in the box to out compete them for any high balls so lets not keep wasting possession.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Fully agree. The majority of his crosses this season have been ‘hit and hope’. He’s living on the past 2 seasons and believing all the hype. Recipe for disaster!

To play effectively against a low block, you need clever movement from the front three and a creative playmaker alert to spot a pass through the defence or a though ball that allows a wide player to cut it back from the byline. That, and being able to shoot from 20 yards accurately when you have a yard of space in front of you. We must have the worst- performing midfield for goals (or even shots on target) from out side the box. Every time it’s a scuff, a block, balloon into orbit or a trundling grass cutter with no power.

Ox was meant to burst the net from 20 yards on a regular basis. Hasn’t happened. Naby was meant to dribble through the defence and win pens or score - hasn’t happened. Too many plan Bs haven’t happened.

Fab has shown that he can smash a few from 20 yards, but not so easy from CB.

Aye.....a player who can take the ball into the box can also be an effective outlet for goals, assists, pens etc

I'm not talking about the ****show that Mane and Salah have been showing for a while now, whereby even second rate defenders can usually stop them. Proper direct, dangerous to stop, causing havoc in the box etc......

Need have options, we don't have that 'fox in the box, so we need to adapt. Endless ****, wasteful crossing shouldn't be the only thing we have in our armoury, nor should blasting it against the defender from 4 inches.

IMO being able to score from several different areas of the pitch and have players that have the craft and guile to break through deep lying defences and find passes in and through tight spaces.

We've had most of our joy in recent years by being devastating in the wide areas and workers in the midfield, unfortunately teams have figured us out. Clearly Klopp seen this as he bought Shaq, Keita & Thaigo and again unfortunately for us Shaq and Keita are forever injured & Thiago got missed 16 games and has come back into a disjointed side. Our luck has well and truly been down the ****ter this season aswell.

Shaq can hit them, but it isnt as quick and "instant" as it needs to be.
He was taking 2-3 touches and allowing the burnley players to block his line of sight.
