- v optimistic to expect him to make a ‘contribution’ this season, from a knee perspective it’s as bad an injury as you get.

I don't even mean this season. I mean his career going forward. If he can return to his pre-injury level then i'll be made up for the lad and it'll be a massive boost to the club.
As i said before i think people are seriously underestimating just how serious this injury was.

I predict a Lucas/Henderson type scenario with Ox. His reputation has grown massively since he's been out and all the fans love him. When he comes back, he naturally won't be at the level he was before. After a while there will be a few moans from the usual suspects. Then the revisionism kicks in, "Was he ever that good?", "He only ever played a handful of decent games for us", "I always said he's ****". Counter arguments will ensue and this will continue until he eventually leaves. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Nah. Can't see that myself.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with Keita. If he kicks on next season and is more effective in english football - then is there space for Keita and Ox in the same team.
A midfield of Fabinho sitting, with Keita and Oxlade as box-to-box midfielders would, on paper, be ****in amazing.
