I can’t see a downside to Ox getting a new contract?

I don’t necessarily see it that way I.e. he only got the contract because he is clear - he lost a year due to injury and I think the club have just added another year on the same terms so we get the 5 years of playing. Klopp is very loyal to his players and they in turn are loyal to him. You see how happy they are to stay on.

The other thing that is clear is that we reward good performance - Mane and Salah got new contracts v quickly after signing for us.

If we get Ox back close to what we saw towards the end of 17/18 he will be a big addition to the squad.

He was a half decent DM, and thats what we needed, but everyone else said we dont lay that way and dont need one

And even the scouts and managers sign a few dogs , so there.

He has always had the potential to step up another level which would see him topping his game out, as he stands he is a very good footballer with a huge amount of premiership experience who has had injury setbacks at key moments in his career.

I remember his performances for us just before he got injured, he was on fire

Yes, he did have a good game.

Often a sicknote at arsenal, but then had some game changing substitute appearances for them and engand.
I doubt he will ever be consistent or injury free.

And set up two goals in the Prem games whilst generally looking like one of the best players in the pitch.

That control when it was smashed to his feet and the way it just pings off his boot in such a Gerrardesque manner. Golden.

It cant be easy to play at our tempo after being out for so long.

Just needs a bit of time to get back to that level. Needs games to get there. Be surprised if he starts v Arsenal though. Wij/Hendo/Fab for me. Gteat player to have on the bench though
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

A lot of good youngsters have been ruined by Arsenal... Maybe their training methods, or too much football before they were fully developed. Im sure that didnt help Gerrard. Hopefully TAA will be well managed.

Hopefully all of the sports analysis will protect rhe younger players from this kind of thing, although its probably really hard to quantify or get a baseline as to what the appropriate amount of training and game time.

We do know that our system requires ultrafitness from everybody... hopefully this wont take too much of a toll on tbe younger(and older) players... Perhaps we should just make multiple clones of Millie.
