I hardly see it though, unless the likes of Rhys Williams are not deemed good enough.

To lose 3 senior centre backs in a short period is bad luck but we seem to have that quite a lot, so maybe the long term solution is to get rid of Matip, who never seem to be fit for long periods of time.
Disagree, City was the warning sign and we went into the season knowing there would be more frequent games, yet relying on 2 injury prone CBS.

We left the door open for another Leicester to spawn a title after we worked so hard to get into a position of strength where we should just be reaping what we've sown rather than praying people stay fit.

Now we will be paying over the odds for anyone wee linked with. We ****ed up.

Would you have preferred we spent £70m on a centre back rather than a left back, left forward and a midfielder?
      Are we winning?

I agree we can’t blame bad planning but I think we took a calculated gamble not replacing Lovren. As you said it is very unlucky to get caught with these injuries but Matip has a poor record and is unavailable more than available in recent times + Gomez has also had some big injuries.

I would be looking to buy a partner for VVD rather than cover for him and see if Joe can step up as he has done in the past. I also think we need to replace Matip - good as he is it doesn’t matter when he never fit

          Right now, yes.

But I don't think 70m on a CB was required to fix that issue.

Play Williams/Phillips against West Ham and Atalanta and prey Matip is fully fit by the City game. International break after that so hopefully Fabinho will be fit again for the Leicester game which is in just over 3 weeks.

Time will tell if we've f*cked up.

Right now we haven't conceded in open play in the 3 games since Virg has been injured and obviously the penalty we did concede was a ridiculous call.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

we took a risk and it has backfired in terms of personnel.

This, we'll just have to manage, our injury situation is just making things a bit more interesting.
                  * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Imagine Henderson will be an emergency CB

With Milner, Gini and Thiago in midfield

                      Yep true, that's more likely.

Milner has also played CB before... but he's not got any height and is slow as a fat kid chasing a Happy Meal... Hendo a better athlete to cover CB. Milner can just provide midfield cover for Thiago's masterclass...

I was going to say it wouldn't surprise me if we went with 4 in midfield to provide extra cover for the makeshift CBs but Mane, Bobby and Salah track back that much it doesn't matter

Thing is Fabs’ own injury record ain’t great so choice 2-4 are to some extent unreliable from that perspective.
                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

It's tough watching Milner now. I know he played the pass to Trent in the build up to the goal but he's not the same player any more. Slow to the ball, slow to react, good for snide fouls mind.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Had that bad injury for a couple of months last year. Any others?

On the plus side, doesn't look like this injury is too serious.
