At this stage I'd be delighted if he stayed, with Lavia providing fresh legs when required. If he has a decent year, his value should depreciate too much, if at all next summer.

Weird how Newcastle and Chelsea seem to get through deals easy enough

There’d need to have been some firm contact from Bayern for Fab to stall his Saudi move for them at this stage.Originally posted by Scratch View PostI wonder if the Bayern interest is why the deal is stalling. Could be he/his family prefer the idea of moving to Germany over Saudi?
Can’t see Bayern offering anything like £40m anyway and I don’t think LFC particularly want to sell unless it’s a too good to turn down amount like that..

Probably putting 2+2 together but could this be why the Lavia talk has gone up. Fabinho stays so we go with what might have been the original plan of him as the experienced one with Lavia and Bajcetic as the youngsters. Also Bajcetic being able to cover the other midfield role as well.
Fabinho will probably be gone later today now.

Was saying elsewhere the timing of Mbappe to SA might be significant too… if RM are getting him on a free next year as part of that stupid deal, then they’ve got no need to raise funds for him this window.
Hence if we were trying our luck on one of Valverde/Tchouameni, then that might have changed from 30% chance to 0% overnight, so kind of a domino effect at play.Hello mert.

Yep, here we go indeed. Money back for a guy we absolutely got his best years and what years they were. Genuinely transformational signing, how many years were we crying out for a DM and once he bedded in he was sensational.Originally posted by Mark79 View Post
The home leg vs Barca lives long in the memory and post game I remember thinking that’s when he really “got it” - like Bobby smiling at him saying now you know……
We need to buy another transformative replacement
