Salzburg played a box midfield with two up top - he played as either the second striker or one of the advanced midfielders. It used to be the Red Bull blueprint until Naglesmann got there. Saints play exactly the same way - Ralf being ex RBL. Low and behold he plays in a formation that he is used to and I think you’ll see a lot more from him - his ability to arrive into the box at the right time was one of the things he was lauded for at Salzburg
