To me Taki looks like he doesn’t have the skill level to compensate for his lack of physical presence. David Silva was a lightweight but had the skills so he didn’t have to physically hold off defenders. Taki tends to lose the ball too easily and gives away too many fouls when trying to win it back. If he could add a bit of beef to his frame he might fare a bit better.

With Jota back very soon, Shaqiri fit and in form, plus Origi ahead of him, it probably makes sense. Taki gets game time, hopefully plays well and increases his value ahead of a summer move somewhere.
He doesn't seem to fit in anywhere in our system, there's no position he can play effectively. He'd be best as a support striker in a two man strikeforceComment
