The fact is, Mo is nailed on to start every game when fit, and then two of Bobby, Jota and Mane are also nailed on.

For Minamino and Origi to get the game time needed to help them become decent understudies, is nigh-on impossible.
Should minamino or origi get a chance from the bench they need to be much more assertive and aggressive to kind of prove they should be considered a starter.
Both are rather too chilled, like its another practice game, lacking the killer instinct.
We should have taken some blood from suarez and see what the lab boys can come up with
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I agree but as I said, I think the reality is, both Taki and Div will only ever be backup options and only get minimal game time, regardless of what they do or how they perform. It’s hard for them to be of the required level with such a low amount of minutes on the field. But I don’t really know how that’s fixed.

I thought he looked much physically stronger last night. He was able to shrug off much bigger players a couple of times. It's what he needed to do to have any sort of a chance. His finishing was very good. He suddenly seems a good option to have. Fair play to him.

His youtube highlights showed him holding off the bigger lumps and spinning off them with easy, maybe he is finally rediscovering his inner beef.

I'd have liked to see him centrally last night as an alternative option to Jota when Bobby is out. Although, 2 goals and another confidence booster for Origi, so not the worst outcome.

Am sure that had nothing to do with Taki
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I knew that was coming when I wrote it. Was gonna change it to pulled, but that seemed worse, haha.

Perhaps but if Minamino continues his current form and Firmino returns and keeps being poor as he was before the injury it's not impossible to imagine Klopp giving Taki a proper run of games in the league but yeah you're right he would really have to light the place up to become a regular starter in PL games.

TBF, he finished the season with 3 goals in 4 games, looked good in preseason and started this season well with a goal. Just a shame he got injured when he did.

True he was doing well the tail end of last season but this season he wasn't great before the injury, would be fantastic though if he recovered that form and it's more than possible, Mane has been gradually turning things so would be excellent for Bobby to do the same.

In the circumstances you describe, Jota’s also a problem for Mimamino’s chances of getting games. Because, in terms of the pecking order, I think it’s:

                        Jota

                        <BIG GAP>

                        Minamino
                        Origi

I also wonder whether, in the event of us having 2 of the main 4 forwards unavailable, Klopp would actually fancy Elliott before Taki or Origi. Of course that’s not going to be an issue for quite a while now, unfortunately.

You're right it's not easy for anyone to get a game ahead of the traditional front 3 of Mo, Mane and Bobby even Jota usually gets dropped when they're all fit. Dunno why but with so many games coming up, injuries occurring and others having form issues I can still see Minamino starting a league game at some point.
Whatever happens great we finally have plenty of proper options throughout the squad.

Hoping Big Gap at least makes the bench for the Brentford game

To be fair I think he could end up a decent player:
