Not sure we ever really did with those others mentioned. Litmanen to a point. The odd flash with Kewell.

Morientes looked like an imposter of the Real Madrid and Monaco player.

Wouldn’t be an issue if he was a donkey but he’s genuinely a world class talent - probably one of the best to ever play for us in terms of talent - he’s been a major disappointment sadly.

Was a genuine joy to watch him play for us. Shame it wasn’t anywhere near often enough.

If you compare the years before and after his signing, its gone downhill.

Definitely one we got wrong when you consider the money spent on the fee and his £200k per week wages.

Fabulous talent but yeah we didn't benefit from it very much, hugely disappointing transfer. Turned out to be a very poor signing in the end. I remember posting his injury history on from transfermarkt on here either just before and when he signed and getting pelters for stating the obvious.

When he did play he made the game look effortless. He was a joy to watch.

The issue as many have pointed out is that he hasn't played all that often.

On balance he's been a poor signing. Transfer fee + wages could have been spent better elsewhere.

Of the established big name players we wanted here, he's not far off Morientes and Litmanen as the most disappointing. Never really rated him highly when he played for us. Had a few good games, but overall a bit meh. Obviously had quality, but never really got the whole thiago lovein and said several times over the years he should've been binned off because he was a permacrock. Won't miss him.
