You'd hope to be looking nearer £30m... keeper's aren't cheap anymore and decent ones especially are hard to find.
£30m is still big money for a keeper and especially one with so little experience at 24 going on 25.
We rate him and we have seen great performances from him, but the sample size is pretty small.
If we got £30m or close to that for him, it would put him into the list of the top ten most expensive keepers of all time let alone the top ten list for the PL.
If he even had a lot of loan games under his belt I could see the figure being higher but we are talking a guy with, at 24 turning 25, a total of 20 senior games in all comps too his name at club level and another 10 at senior level for Ireland. He also only has 4 PL games to his name.
If we were looking to buy a 24 or 25 year old back up keeper from another club with 21 games to his name, we would be laughing at the idea of paying big money (in keeper terms).
If we got £20m for him I would be thinking we did really well.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Kelleher is about the same age now as when Ward when for that and has 20 senior games to his name.
I'm just saying that regardless of how we are Liverpool fans rate Kelleher, he has a very small number of games upon which to judge him on. He truns 25 this year and has 20 senior club games to his name and only 4 of those senior games are pl games.
Maybe we can sell him for a fee close to £30m that puts him into the top ten fees for a goalkeeper in the world, but I suspect not.
Hell the guy that is keeping him out of the Irish team, Bazunu, went for £12m and that was seen as a high fee and he currently has 121 senior club games to his name, 32 of them PL games and he is three years younger than Kelleher.
So looking at both him and Ward to use your back up keeper scale then in around that 12m mark seems to be the figure for guys with more game time than Kelleher so even if we say Kelleher's far lower number of club games are weighted more due to playing for a bigger club then even the £20m figure seems generous let alone a £30m fee.
Both Bazunu and Ward would also count as Homegrown so Kelleher is not worth a premium over them for being homegrown either.
I hope you guys are right at valuing Kelleher around £30m but looking at the sort of fees other more proven keepers have goine for in recent years (and not even considering Ward or Bazunu when I say that) I cannot see Kelleher going for a really high (for a goalkeeper) fee.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Various clauses to be included as well

I think it will be around 20m (maybe 25) with a fair few add ons and clauses. There will probably be a buy back clause as well and of the guy ends up being one of the best goalies in the league, we could probably buy him back and then sell him on again and make another wedge.
Probably a good move for all parties. On reality, if he was to wait for Becker to leave, he could probably end up waiting until he is in his late 20s himself and at that point he will have way too little top level experience to become Liverpools #1.

Defintely with a buy back clause or sell on-clause as don't think we will get past €15 million for him.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostI think it will be around 20m (maybe 25) with a fair few add ons and clauses. I'd hope for more than that given he is moving for more game time, he is likely to be the first choice at his new club, otherwise why move?Originally posted by Angryred View PostDefintely with a buy back clause or sell on-clause as don't think we will get past €15 million for him.
If he moves to another PL club, then it has to be at a premium, or be part of a reciprocal deal for someone we really want.We are here for a good time not a long time....

Buy back for 25m or 30 makes sense.Originally posted by Angryred View PostDefintely with a buy back clause or sell on-clause as don't think we will get past €15 million for him.
That way if we sell for 15m the buying club knows they will make back what they paid plus a nice premium, and from our side of it if we are looking to buy him back that means he has become a genuine top class keeper that we will be getting at what will probably be less than what market price will be in a few years time.I don't hate people.
