Do not think he is one at all.Originally posted by fidget View PostI think he's the least of our worries
Imagine the same attackers (minus Jota to make the numbers work) and back line we had last night, then drop any three of Real's four midfielders into it.
Whilst we do need some replacements/competition for the right flank and at the back, you put some quality into our centre and we would be a different beast overnight imo.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Alisson?
Konate? (when fit)
Possibly Gakpo?
Rewatching Justified?
Signing Barella? That may or may not have only happened on FIFA23

Alison has been brilliant, but I expect him to be. Plus him playing well usually means the rest aren't.
Konate been very good too, but was such a disappointment losing him with that most recent injury.
But for me, even when we've been ****, Nunez has been fun to watch and Bajcetic has been a breath of fresh air.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

A goal or assist every other game pretty much. No way he's been an unqualified success but given how the team as a whole has struggled I think he's done well. He clearly has lots of potential to improve too.
The fee is another matter though, I don't think it was great negotiating really and we did overpay.
Yeah ending up in a bidding war with Man U wasnt ideal. He is definitely a rough diamond, and £85m is a lot for one of those.
Modifying post.

Clutching at straws a bit now, but will add Doak to my list. He looked good in the little time he got.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Isn't the 85m fee what we will pay if all conditions are met for the add ons to be activated.
Thought the actual fee was closer to 65m?I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yeah, that sounds familiar actually. Am guessing the clauses are CL wins and other performance milestones which we will undoubtedly be delighted if he hits them.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostIsn't the 85m fee what we will pay if all conditions are met for the add ons to be activated.

Just googled and 64m was the transfer fee with a potential 21m in add ons for league titles, CL wins, goals scored etc.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostYeah, that sounds familiar actually. So if we do pay out 85m in time, we will be delighted as you said.
Funny though how the add ons always seem to get added for the likes of Darwin in the media etc, but not a peep about guys like Anthony Gordon going for 40 or so million or Antony to the Mancs for 82m not including add ons.
Darwin has a better return than Antony when it comes to goals/assists and cost lessLast edited by Doc_Piptorious; 16-03-23, 11:47 AM.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

When you’re comparisons include Anthony Gordon and Anthony, something is not right.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostJust googled and 64m was the transfer fee with a potential 21m in add ons for league titles, CL wins, goals scored etc.

But the disparity is mostly who is saying it or why. People quote the high figure for opposition players and the lower one for theirs in general, or the high price for players deemed to be flops and the lower one to suggest a bargain buy. The media tend to use the higher figure I think.
Either way, none of the players mentioned look good enough for the PL challenging sides at the moment.Last edited by Kenneth; 16-03-23, 02:44 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

The whole team looks like that to be fair!Originally posted by wiw View PostHe looked super fit and powerful when he played against us. We've somehow made him look like he's constantly exhausted. Is this just me or?

I'm not sure how we're going to proceed next season, but I just want to see Nunez up front now. He looked really good in that role before being shunted to the left. I'd love to see Nunez, Diaz and Salah in a front 3 for an extended period of time.

For me he just seems ineffective without a lot if space to run into. He is pretty awful with his back to goal. He is very good in the air. it begs the question just where he is most effective. I think with everyone fit he would be the perfect plan B used as a target man. A high press does not seem to suit his game though. We would need to sit back and hit on the break to take advantage of his pace properly, but most teams tend to sit quite deep against us.
He has had chances though. A lot of them. Missed a lot and scored a few. He is a rough diamond. i know many see the potential, but I personally dont think he will ever get to the consistancy required for a top player. I think the main problem is he has come into a struggling team, replacing Diaz and Mane, both of whom were very incisive with their running. Nunez, while very fast, doesnt get the ball and zoom straight at defenders everytime, and looks very ineffective by comparison.
Hopefully with a proper midfield he will prosper, but I do think his own limitations dont gel well with our style of play. Saying that, when the team does play well, he does look better. When the team struggles he goes missing. Maybe for the fee I exoected someone who would make a difference in the same way as Mane, who could be very inconsistanr at times, but would always make his presence known to the defenders.Last edited by Charly; 18-03-23, 03:13 PM.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
