Calvert Lewin sounds like the perfect Napoli/ Serie A transfer.Originally posted by Lee View PostSounds like Napoli have pulled out of the deal due to costs.
Has-been from PL and more importantly, free.

I'm starting to warm to the idea of him staying.
Every rational bone in my body knows it's a terrible idea, but nothing about this summer so far has been rational.
When he scores against Preston, I'm ****ed.

That's good news they've been a nightmare to deal with. The cheek of them to ask Galatasaray for bank guarantees (from an Italian club) speaks volumes.
Hopefully that Saudi club come back into the fray or as you say we keep him and pay whatever the appearance fee that comes with that. I certainly support that rather than replacing him with Etikike who doesn't look any better.

[quote=Harv;3963047]30 goals and assists when he's actually played. Just unfortunately misses loads more.
Not ****ing good enough
At least he's always available to play and until he got binned halfway through last season gave his all, unlike Jota who's become a total liability and equally as **** at scoring goals (and contributes nothing else during games)
The notion of just giving a player away for peanuts when they can still contribute and offer depth on the bench (especially if you're signing someone susceptible to injury like Isak) is daft IMO.
Should've taken the Arab riches in January, especially since he barely played afterNever knowingly optimistic

I’d say that there are some optics at play here with Jota that mean that at least publically all activities have appeared to have stopped. I’m sure there is still a lot going on in the background but you can tell that since Jota passed the media activities from the club have been carefully managed. How could we possibly have announced a signing or anything out with the death of Diogo in the last ten days?Originally posted by Norbs View PostAll of a sudden our spending spree has come to an abrupt halt
The game today would appear to be the obvious point at which the outward messaging can slightly pivot towards what is standard, but even then I’d imagine it will be carefully monitored. The consultation with Diogo m’s wife and family will have covered some of this for sure - the club have handled all of this with a delicate touch that can not have been easy.Modifying post.

100% it was due to quieten around now anyway as the striker deal is complex and we're probably looking at outgoings first. All of which would be terribly uncouth at this time, selling players at a funeral the day before etc.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI’d say that there are some optics at play here with Jota that mean that at least publically all activities have appeared to have stopped. I think the family will be consulted before activity on that front begins and I doubt it'll be a for a week or two yet. And then a fair amount of activity close to the start or after the start of the season.

I’ve seen this mentioned before. It’s not a lack of service. Mo and others would set him up and he’d miss. He gets plenty of chances. How would having another playing do the same thing help him finish off the chances.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostSomething tells me Darwin ant Wirtz could strike up a lethal partnership… I wouldn’t be completely broken hearted if he stayed.
