I don't think he's evolving, he just needs to chill the **** out and play his natural game which is exactly why we signed him, movement, pace and being clinical in front of goal. He is an instinctive forward that when he doesn't have to think too much and just rely on his natural ability, he looks great (Like Mane). The problem at the moment seems to lie with when he has too much time to think it goes tits up (Like Mane). Also, unfortunately him, Diaz and Jota all play better from the left .. how the **** did we get ourselves into the situation? The issue is with the two up top, Salah is anonymous if he's deep on the right side mid. If Nunez could adapt to playing a more central role whilst being as effective as previously, that would be perfect.Last edited by danperkins; 20-10-22, 12:16 PM.

Like he did against Rangers?Originally posted by Charly View PostHe need to learn to place his shots occassionally. There is a lot to be said for power. But also a side foot into the corner when he is through on goal
None of his goals for us have been power shots, so seems an odd criticism, especially off the back to two world class efforts that couldn't have been side footed. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I kinda get his point though. His effort right after the goal he seemed to just smash it instead of trying to find the corner… also in the first game against rangers he was 3/4 good chances that were hit straight at the keeper. I’m of the mindset that he’s still settling in and once he does he’ll start banging in the goals (more than he is now).
He’s still very young, and under a lot of pressure having moved to such a big club, moved for a big fee, branded as mane’s replacement (#2 on ballon dor list), the comparisons to haaland, the added pressure he brought himself with that headbutt.. also couldn’t have been easy to settle in, when the whole team was under par the first few weeks.
Really encouraging that he’s getting so many chances. If he does click and suddenly find a greater level of composure we could have a real goal machine on our hands.I don't tip

I'd need to watch it again, but I thought it was the right decision to hammer it, rather than go for the place or find Mo. In general, I'd rather his approach is to hit hard and on target at all times (similar to Jota), especially when settling in and finding his feet. His two gaols against us were side footers into the corner, so it's not as if he's not capable or doesn't have it in his repertoire, so it's not something I'd worry too much about at this stage.Originally posted by Mr Pink View PostI kinda get his point though. I agree, I think he's gonna explode soon, but I just hope we can find a way to facilitate that and still get the best out of Mo.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I've seen that comparasson quite a few times and think it's a bit of a **** way to make the point people are trying to, that the criticism on Nunez is too harsh.
Jesus is having a great season and is sitting top of the league, plus he's a completely different type of player. Comparing those two is like comparing a peak Bobby to Vardy or Chris Wood and just reflects bad on us.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

agree 100% that’s the point I was trying to make, I think he has it in his locker and once he’s settled in, we’ll see him converting more of the many chances he’s getting. Last nights goal was his first at anfield (for us, haha). That in itself must have been a weight off his shoulders. Nott forrest could be a perfect team for him to bag a few and suddenly become full of confidence!
In a way, it’s a good thing that we didn’t score more last night, as his goal was the difference, and won us the game- he must be flying high today 🫡I don't tip
