Apparently his xG alone Chelsea was 1.61 (including the penalty of course)
Id say 9 shots and no goals is not a great stat. Despite that his other stats are still really very good. He just needs to.learn to place his shots. Not convinced he is going to change, but if he keeps playing that well we should be doing ok.

I dont think people would be quite as lenient if we were no clear at the top. Reminds me of Crouch a bit. Winnimg contributions can amount to a lot of things. The frustration is that if he could finish at a reasonable or average rate he would be hirting 30-40 a season and considered elite. He shooting is just really bad in terms of shots to goals regardless of being "on target".

Maybe he can turn that corner, and I hope he does. But even if he doesnt, and he is still getting in there and knocking in a few and assisting others, then we will have every chance. I think we have looked more fluid up front without Salah and perhaps that has helped Nunez. Hopefully Salah can slot back in without disrupting our front line.

This has been the best our attack has been since Bobby and Mane left. We have looked very "individual" in the last 3rd up until recently. There seems to be much better interplay, probably since Jota came back in... its hard ro put my finger on it as the team looks better all over. Gomez and Bradley are probably just as responsible. Even Maaca.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

We've been top or thereabouts since start December when he was regularly called useless and a stupid ****er. Don't think people are being 'lenient', they are acknowledging a player playing well and a big reason why the team as a whole are playing so well.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He wasnt playing this well in December though.

i'd say his record number of shots hitting the post would suggest he is placing his shots a fair amount.

So placing his shots just outside the actual goal rather than within it?

I think the penalty was very frustrating- we were already 2-0 up and in complete control of the game, not like it was a pressure boiler moment, so any professional footballer should be able to hit that on target. In general I think he’s been unlucky this season that he hasn’t scored double what he has. I reckon he gets a hat trick in some game before the end of the season, where things just click.
Agreed, definitely better. He's making keepers save them a bit more, that left-footed shot was a good example and he took it early.

I hear the unlucky thing a lot, along with the "on another day, he'd have had a hat-trick". That's fine for a match but after a while you start to wonder whether it's down to luck or something else.

He hit the wood (metal) twice, and the gk saved twice and pushed the ball onto the wood.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He hit the woodwork three times given the one on the bar wasn't touched by the keeper. That's missing the target three times out of four.

Again, by missing the goal. And that's before we even talk about the penalty. Just get it on target.

Practice makes perfect and **** me he's getting a lot of practice.

Seriously though he's improved a lot, scored some lovely goals lately, playing very well and big part of why we ARE scoring a lot of goals as a team.

Salah doesn't shunt anyone from the team when he gets back inc Nunez which says a lot. Either I'm an idiot or nunez is playing very well.

He's definitely a lot better than he was to start so it's a good direction of travel. If he could sort out his shooting a bit he'd be going for leading goalscorer in the league with no trouble.

Comparing seasons , Premier League only.

His xg per 90 has gone up from .75 to .95
His time per goals has gone from 189 to 185 .
                            Shot accuracy 52% to 53%
                            conversion rate 13% to 12%

Not sure his shooting is showing any improvement.

But his all round game and understanding with the team has.

All four games that Liverpool have lost this season were games in which Darwin Núñez did not start or play

His running off the ball is chasing chaos. He’s constant threat. The runs he makes happen so quickly he is inadvertently straying offside. His sped is causing our players problems, if they could just make the passes a split second quicker he would be offside and so clear of the defenders

His close play in tight situations has really improved in the last months

We have one hell of a player and the keyboarders and sofa supporters should just listen to the crowd and learn. He is adored by the crowd and is one hell of a player
