When he is confident, it won't matter if teams play high block, low block or no block. A finisher is a finisher. He just needs confidence.

Personally not sure if I will ever feel as confident as a peak Torres or Salah when he is on on goal. BUt those 2 finishes today are a start

Really pleased for the lad. Two very well taken goals to win a game that we probably didn’t deserve to win. Who’d of thought hey

Thanks but those vids don't do him justice. He hits the inside of the far post each time. Utterly perfect.
              Really?

He did look more comfortable in the right channel.

I would never drop Gakpo for Nunez... But maybe Mo needs a rest?

I was thinking that I wonder if he will get some minutes there when Mo needs a rest.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Salah was involved in both the goals. Assist for the second.

It seems he has a decent understanding with Nunez. I’d go Diaz/Darwin/Salah next. Darwin deserves a start after that cameo.

I agree, but I dont think our system works as well without the false 9, and I dont think Nunez can play deep.

The problem is Salah plays ****e and still makes all the telling contributions.

With nunes as the front man it means salah is a bit deeper so he can play like a right sided 10 and he has someone to play the through ball to, as well as having space to run into.
If salah is a deeper winger he is often boxed in by two defenders and has less passing options.

                        Ideally I'd like to see...

                        ------------------- Nunez ----------------
Diaz --------- Mac Alli ------- Salah

How often do you see attacking players change roles as they age with that lack of pace. Mo’s passing game has definitely been more evident last season and so far this season, the ball to Diaz at Chelsea was class.

Get Trent back to overlapping and with Szoboszlai also able to take space wide from his central role Mo could definitely play the role you’re talking about. It doesn’t overcomplicate things like they are now and sticks more to the 433 we are used to.

Nunez needs to start against Villa, they like a high line so I'd be tempted to go with Diaz - Nunez - Salah, maybe put Gakpo on the left for support. We need to build on this result.
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Salah’s passing game improved after Mane left, just saying…..
