he does mad sprints too often in low value situations, need a Rafa/Gerrard type chat to knock it on the head

It's now or never for Nunez. He's got the whole fanbase rooting for him, and momentum on his side. I've always rated him, but suspected Klopp had major reservations, especially regarding the language barrier. If he hadn't scored twice against Newcastle, I do wonder if we'd have seen him start against Aston Villa. It's annoyed me seeing him being played out of position, or getting a few minutes here and there. He had such a swagger with Benfica, and I thought our situation last year didn't help him.

I've seen the pressing stuff doing the rounds, and that's majorly encouraging. With that performance against Villa, he's demonstrated what an absolute monster he can be. From being possibly the 5th choice attacker, he's propelled himself right into a starting XI spot. Would be awesome to see him become a world class talent. People compare him to Suarez, which I find bewildering. He plays so much like a prime Cavani. The physique, the energy, the movements in the channels, the power. He has it all, and I hope we continue giving him the opportunity to shine.

2 assists and a good performance for Uruguay apparently.

Just watched highlights, could have had a few more assists too.

Did appear to play very well, although missed a one-on-one to score himself which will please plenty of people.

Yeah seen the highlights too. Keeper came out well to be fair although i do think he could add ‘going past the keeper’ to his array.

Training against Ali every week, he probably thinks there is no point.

… so here’s a video of him repeatedly hitting the ball at a goalkeeper

In that CL game against us for Benfica I thought his accuracy was amazing. From memory he had 6 or 7 chances against us and everyone hit the target. That's the player I'm convinced we will end up with.

Klopp will love him for his pressing and his power. Defences must be terrified of him although keepers maybe less so. I think Klopp sees him as an impact sub, as he was against Newcastle scoring two excellent goals. Against Villa his work rate was mental giving them loads of problems but essentially he had three excellent opportunities and didn't hit the target once. That has to be mental when you consider some of the goals he has scored.

Wasn’t he playing down the left and cutting inside for Benfica in those games?
