But variety also harms the system that Klopp has embeded and won us everything, got us 90+ points 3 times, got us to 3 CL finals.

I like the false nine system... Im really old and dont like change [emoji16]

We've always dreamed of how a team with Suarez, Torres and Gerrard would look, well now we have Salah, Nunez and Szoboszlai - let's find out!

Either Klopp disagees with us or he's bedding in a long term plan.

To be fair that’s what he was doing the first few games- Nunez seemed to be 5th choice attacker, until what he did in the Newcastle game. I love the idea of them competing for places. For years the first choice front 3 was always gonna be Salah, mane and firmino- players like origi, ings etc had to settle for a place on the bench, or else leave the club. But now we have a system where the bench players can genuinely earn a place in the first choice team. Also just as importantly, players can lose their place in the first choice front 3, if the standards slip.

With the cup/Europa games coming thick and fast now, everyone will get plenty of opportunities to play, and opportunities to force themselves into the first choice team.

And it's not even a case of performing better, sometimes a player just fits the team better for the given opposition.

I know what people are saying about systems etc but, you also play players who are in form, after the Newcastle game Nunez was full of confidence and is now our joint top scorer with Salah. He seems to be a player who thrives on confidence so playing him now makes sense, if you leave him out of the side when he is doing well when is he going to play? Gakpo's game isn't so much about scoring himself but his form as been off a bit so far this season, so I don't see the issue, players come in and out of form, Hopefully Gakpo (or Jota) can have an upturn in form when Nunez or one of the other forwards form is slipping...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The other thing to say is that I don't think Klopp's "Liverpool 2.0" has figured out exactly how they want to play so I think there is more of an opportunity for players to stake a claim for a regular spot than there has been for a while.

Agree with this. To add that, as much as I’d like to believe otherwise, I don’t think Gravenberch is either.

                          That’s a whoosh, or you misread ‘3’?

Or it’s 8 times including last season, which could be right.

It's quite possible that we're looking to defend through possession and movement rather than spoiling and moving forward.

That said Bajčetić is effective at both or at least is developing that way.

Nunez over gakpo every time. Still not convinced with him.
