Thanjk you.

All I remember is him being incredibly wasteful in front of goal (despite us playing well overall as a team) and also killing counterattacks dead with **** touches and missed passes.

Wasn't that the period of time when his decision making had gone to **** with loads of lay offs and short passes getting missed or ****ed up in key attacking phases?

Yep. He turned to complete crap over night. It was bizarre.

Maybe it was just the one season + post covid restart then. But he was ****ing ****. Lost all his pace, couldn't control a football and missed chance after chance.
He had a tough time in the season he had Covid. He subsequently admitted he just didn't feel right. That is a fantastic set of figures bearing that in mind.
For me, he changed over time as a player from a bustling winger, a scorer of great goals, to a scruffy, fox in the box goalscorer. Not complaining. mind, just that he wasn't the same player but his stats were still great and was a massive threat.
Going back to Nunez, I think he's already taken Mane's place in the side as a goal threat but I'm interested to see if he can develop more.
Ah, so you only judge players on goals and assists now?
Darwin's doing fine then
I judge forwards on the amount of goals they get yes, sure that's why we signed Nunez to score goals. If Darwin can get 22 Goals and 12 Assists like the "horrible" season you said Mane had ... he'll be doing just fine. I think if you look back at what I said and stop being so defensive of him, you will find that I do say positive things about him too from time to time & think he will score goals ..... you just chose to ignore them for some reason

What was your point again?
My point if you bothered to read it was that he's judging Mane on G/A output ignoring how bad he was at finishing chances, linking up play and general passing a lot of the time. But bags Nunez repeatedly in every thread he can on such things. It's a just tad contradictory.

No, you said he had two horrible seasons when in fact his output was fantastic & he had a blip after covid. You are comparing someone who was considered one of the best players in the world at one stage, Ballon D'or candidate for a few years averaging about 20 goals plus assists per season, putting in world class performances week after week for 4 or 5 seasons in a row ... to Nunez who is here a wet day. There is a big difference between someone being "****" (He did struggle for a time) and someone having a dip in form after setting the highest level of standards for years.
Once again, nobody is writing him off, his numbers have been decent, he does have a particular skillset which can be very effective. I have posted what I think his weaknesses are and also what I think his strengths are, there's is nothing wrong with that imo. Every players has both & I've also said several times that I still think he could score a lot of goals here. It's a bit of a bizarre kind of a crusade you are on to defend him when honestly nobody is really attacking him in the first place. I think I had this exact conversation with you back in October when you were having one of your moments

Yet.... You don't bag him on those things but you did Mane.
I know Mane was no Dua Lipa but come on man. It's a bit rich you bagging poster's for bagging. You're king bagger so wtf?

I only bagged Mane when his performances dropped. Nunez has been here for like 4 months and hasn't even had time to settle in. But Perkins has already read him, labelled him and put him back on the shelf
