I think the reality of it is we bought him off the back of 1 great season (34 goals in 41 games) thinking that he was someone who would stay at or close to that level, when in terms of goalscoring that was a one off season and his level under Klopp was back to where it was before that season.

Since Slot came in the change of system doesn't really seem to suit him and his performances/stats have dropped off.

He had two goal scoring seasons in terms of goal conversion rate in 7 years
