I said a few times there is a lack of understanding between the front three and attacking players in general. Compare what we have now to the Salah-Mane-Firmino era, we are a million miles from that fluidity regardless of who plays, those days we went on a break and you *knew* we would almost certainly score, this side it almost certainly feels like we won't, somehow we will play the wrong pass or choose the wrong shot.

I don't think it's as simple as that, it wasn't always Firmino playing passes to Mane or Salah, it was the link up between all of them that was good and the link up between these players seems really poor in comparison.

I think so. I reckon Elliott could play that role. Problem is Diaz isnt the goal threat Mane was, and Salah aint got the pace he had, so need smart balls played to him in dangerous areas.

A lot of work is needed, but a new manager will have their own ideas. A lot rides on Jota being fit, imho. He still has a bit of guile and an end product

I don't think Elliott has the legs or the guile for it. Plus apart from an occasional wondershot he's a poor finisher and I don't think I've ever seen him head the ball.

I don't feel Jota is a player you can rely on playing 2 games a week, I think he like a few others eg Konate need to have their minutes managed, it really is becoming more and more of a squad game.
