Who Is Your Favourite 5 Boxers Of All Time?

Would be interested to know peoples thoughts.
    My top 5 would be:

1: Marvin Hagler - A devestating fighter at his peak who never seemed to have a chink in his armour, the Hearns fight is the stuff of legend. I was disappointed that he quit after the Leonard fight as i always thought the whole thing was a sham and a fighter of Haglers class deserved to go out far more gracefully.

2: Muhammad Ali - Speed and style personified - whenever i watch old Ali fights i still find his hand speed to be simply breathtaking - I watched him box a 3 round exhibition many years ago and even though he was a shadow of his former self when he started to move it made me regret even more that i never got to see him at his peak in the flesh.

3: Roberto Duran - Toughest fighter ive ever seen and i always watched his fights with more anticipation than virtually any other, as you just seemed to know something special was going to happen.

4: Thomas Hearns - I used to love it when Tommy got hit and it hurt him as his legs used to properly go like rubber, but his courage and determination not to go down i found inspiring. Cant remember his opponents name now (Juan Roldan perhaps?) but Tommy destroyed him to win with one of the finest displays of accurate punching ive ever seen.

5: Sugar Ray Leonard - Thought long and hard about this but for natural talent and the boxing purist he is hard to beat, skill in abundance, though i have to say that i lost interest in his career towards the end as i thought there was more than one dubious decision in there. A class act nevertheless who provided me with some of my greatest boxing memories.
If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long

Personally MY favourite fighters have to be:

    1. Muhammad Ali - G.O.A.T

    2. Prince Naseem

    3. Mike Tyson

    4. Nigel Benn

    5. Frank Bruno - Don't take the piss, but I did enjoy watching him fight. Saddo.

MY favourite 5 of all time are (take into consideration I am not old enough to have seen alot of the legendary fighters regularly enough)
      Mohamed Ali
      Rocky Marciano
      Roy Jones Junior
Barry Mcguigan(I guess largely for what he represented for me as a child)
      Marco Antonio Barrera
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

        1. Ali
        2. Haggler
        3. Chavez
        4. Tyson (pre-jail)
        5. McGuigan (might be a strange choice but he was a tough little fecker who was at his peak when I was a lad and for some bizarre reason I used to enjoy his battles).

Lennox Lewis - the guy gave a f*ckin fortune to charity and did a huge amount for the local comunity.

Tyson - the most destructive boxer of all time at his best

Rocky Marciano - the only heavyweight champion to retire undefeated

              Ali - the greatest entertainer

              Rocky Balboa

in order of how much I like them, not their achievements-

                1. Marciano
                2. Calzaghe
                3. De La Hoya
                4. Tyson
                5. Sugar Ray Robinson

Im lucky in that my dad was a huge boxer and boxing fan and pretty much had these fights on vhs and later dvd, so Ive managed to catch most of the main great boxing bouts.
I did like Hamed up until he lost to Barerra but he went way down in my estimation by not attempting, seriously, to come back. He is a prime example of a boxer with all the talent in the world getting too cocky.
I also liked Eubank, Lennox, Mayweather, Tzsyu and the legendary Roberto Duran.
Im a big boxing fan, some great bouts coming up over the next 12 months too.

                  1. Hagler - A boxer's boxer. The toughest fighter mentally that I have ever seen, and along with Foreman, the most determined and self driven man that you could meet.

                  2. James Toney - Undisputed king of smack talk. It took a peak Jones Jnr to give him his first defeat in his 47th fight as a pro. Won titles at middleweight, super middleweight, Light heavyweight, cruiserweight and Heavyweight.

                  3. Carlos Monzon - Hardness personified. Amazing middleweight. Would destroy any middleweight that is out there now.

                  4. Sugar Ray Robinson - Would have been a great in any era.

                  5. Salvador Sanchez - Taken from the boxing world years before his time, died on my 9th birthday. Was a fearsome featherweight, wonderfully gifted, and frighteningly durable.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I guess mine would be, in no particular order:

Nigel Benn - loved the pure aggression

Barry McGuigan - loved the whole fight experience, from "Danny Boy" onwards. Had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago.

Marvellous Marvin Hagler - again, a very aggressive fighter. Loved the whole head-punching thing to get himself psyched up.

Prince Naseem - cocky, arrogant, brilliant.

                      Ali - the greatest.

Others in the frame include Joe Calzaghe who keeps defying the pundits, Tyson, Steve Collins, Barrera.

Yeah some good calls Mike, Didn't Toney test positive for steroids though after his Heavyweight fight though, and recently too?
Still take nothing away from him, he is exceptional boxer.
