I understand that you have to pedal and you move forward. Do they try and mix things up a bit by having a pedalo leg of the race? If not I think we should start a petition to have one included. Imagine the scenes of the pedallers jumped of their bikes and and dashed towards their pedalo's.

What you seem to be missing is the sheer difficulty of what they're doing. Standing around all day and doing the odd bit of running, throwing or hitting really doesn't compare.

Yes, but the London Marathon is also bloody hard work. Doesn't make it a spectator sport.

You have to admit, giving them a pedalo leg would increase the excitement 10 fold

It was really impressive. He seems a really nice bloke.

Sastre and Schleck were both pretty impressive in patches today. Sastre timed his attack on Astana well. I don't think Schleck has the experience or strength to really mount a challenge but he followed well today. Much like his brother in the Giro - he never attacked the eventual winner, Danilo Di Luca, but he kept up with him well and ended up on the podium. It's possible Franck could do the same.

I'm afraid that makes little sense to me. Attacking the eventual winner sounds rather unsporting...
