not enough head movement, he also walked straight in to the punch that KO's him too. I think he was tired by that point and was desperate to win some rounds.

I think its him, he was interviewed prior to the fight wearing his pimped out clothes, put on a fair amount of weight too, very different to how i remember him when he was boxing.

Oscar hasn't fought at 147 in about 7 years let alone 140, if he wants to make 140 for a fight sometime next year he wont be able to eat or drink from now till then. Theres no chance

Cotto can't make it now either, he'll end up at 154 aswell for definate.

As Kurt says it's a bit of a **** situation now, pretty average fights at 140 with Junior "I couldn't fill a hall let alone a proper arena" Witter and Paulie "I can't knock anyone out" Malignaggi and co or more than likely get his arse handed to him allbeit for big money by people who are on another level to him physically at 147.

It wouldn't surprise me if he analyses things a bit more over the next few weeks and packs it in.

It all depends on where he chooses to fight next. If it's in this country and it's at Light-Welter then it could possibly be Witter but there could possibly be problems arranging the fight. There's no doubt Witter wants it and needs it and despite what others think Hatton hasn't been ducking him but maybe now, after last nights loss, he'll see it as a way back to a world title.

The problem would be though, as champion, Witter would want a big share of the purse where as Ricky, as undoubtedly the bigger named fighter of the two, would want the majority as well.

If the fight was made Witter would sell about a thousand tickets on his own. The rest would be there for Hatton so it would be an interesting situation to see if they could agree on who gets what.

If it does end up being De La Hoya at Wembley then there's huge risk involved there for Ricky because his height, reach and frame just don't seem to allow him to be as competetive.

That's not to say that he's not capable of winning fights at 147 but he's giving away big advantages to his opponents. Perhaps he needs a couple of gimmes at the weight to help grow into it a bit better and become more used to it but at 29 he doesn't really have the time on his side.

Neither of the top Welters would and Ricky just isn't big enough for the Welterweight division. He gives away a lot of advantages. At Light-Welter he has everything and is still recognised as the top fighter at 140, despite his loss last night, but the fights just aren't there. If he wants the big fights he'll have to stay at the bigger weight but there's huge risk involved with that.

Yeah, there is no competition whatsoever in the Light Welter division. Neither Billy Graham or Hatton mentioned about the weight gain being some sort of an excuse. I think if Hatton wants either of the aforementioned fighters, he has to stay at this weight. He might want to fight Witter at Welter as a warm up. Doubt it happening.

Having re-watched a big part of the fight in a less drunk and emotional state I think what becomes apparent is that in order to stay in the fight Ricky had to use a lot more energy early on than he and Billy Graham intended. He had to try and keep Floyd on the back foot so that he never got picked off. He started at a pace that would have blown quite a few Light-Welterweights away but against a bigger man in Floyd who holds loads of advantages over him and at a bigger weight he had to keep the pace for the full twelve. From round 8 onwards though he just wasn't there, the stamina was gone. When that's gone and Floyd starts picking you off it's only going to end one way and unforunately it did.

One thing that surprised me was how far the judges had Floyd in front by the time of the ko. Two had it 89 - 81 and one had it 88 - 82. I thought it was quite a bit closer. Mayweather should have been in front on points by that stage but not as much 8 points. HBO had Hatton ahead right up until the 7th round apparently and Sky had Floyd ahead by two.

I thought Hatton slowly started to slip after the 6th. Mayweather knew this would happen. Hatton is a fighter, like Tyson, he doesn't aim to go the distance. He wants his business done, bish bash bosh. In and out. The emotion before the fight and during the fight drained all of the energy out of Hatton who did look in great shape.

Mayweather was simply class. There is no taking that away from him. He knew what to expect from Hatton. Hatton didn't have the ability to up his game after each round, something we seen with Mayweather after the 6th. Had Hatton capitalised on Mayweather's slip in the 1st with more pressure, we might have seen another result. Mayweather is simply the best at this moment and long may his legacy continue.
