Floyd knew he was in a fight though and as such he paid respect to Ricky and I've never seen him do that to an opponent, even when he's won.

I'm gutted though, truely gutted. I just think that Ricky got a bit eager. The worst advice was given to him in the corner when they told him he couldn't afford to lose another round. That meant that he steamed in even more and when he did Floyd was waiting and Floyd's the best in the business at that.

At lest he's taken it on the chin and will hopefully come back stronger. He wa also very gracious in the end and that must've been hard to do.

His quote of 'what a fluke that was' made me smile.

    Unlucky Ricky.
Kurtangle, I think your knowledge on boxing is outstanding, however reading this post I am a little disappointed you haven't given Mayweather enough credit for his victory. For me Mayweather truly showed why he is technically the best boxer on the planet. He studied Hatton in the earlier rounds and implemented a strategy to deal with Hattons aggressive approach.

I have always rated Mayweather and have followed his career for a few years, however he really started to piss me off the the past few days with his antics. I was glad to see he showed Hatton the respect he deserves afer the fight and in the post fight press conference.

One thing I will say about Mayweather is that he showed that he can fight on the inside and the outside. Alot of people doubted that he could. He was just too skillful in every department. I would like to see him fight Cotto but can't see it happening. If it did happen I still think Mayweather would win.

Well done Hatton you showed a lot of heart and courage and like Mayweather said, you are still a champion in my eyes.

Q: What do Ricky Hatton and Liverpool Football Club have in common?

A: Both are owned by rich Americans.

    Sorry mates. Had to.

Floyd stopped him cold; Superior boxing skill. Despite being an egomaniac, Floyd's gloves back his mouth up every time. It can get a little nauseating, but he's a great fighter. Fair play to Hatton, he used what got him here, but it wasn't enough. Nice to see the man from Michigan (my home state) win this fight; On to Cotto, which will be amazing. Ricky is an excellent sportsman and a gutsy fighter, I hope to see him fight again very soon.

and now... just to get back in good graces...

Q: What do Floyd Mayweather and Liverpool Football Club have in common?

A: They both beat the **** out of Mancs.

    Nite nite.

Kurt, Witter has been after Hatton for ages so why not the fight???

It ain't all about the money...

Hatton and his promo team have ducked and dived with Witter...

    Why???

Ohh well it's nights like this to restore my faith in boxing. My wife and I really love MMA but nothing beats the big 'fight nights'. Just wish Ricky could have acted a little more professional during his post-fight interview. Accuse a guy on not being a hard puncher (In the words of Divo 'You were knocked the **** out') and don't accuse someone of cheap shots

If you've stayed up this long then you obviously share a passion.

If you know enough then you will know that you don't need to post half a page.

Answer my question. If you were a fighter who'd proven themself and had a chance to fight one of the greats in a big fight for both money and glory or fight a glorified ****ing joke like Junior Witter what would you do?

Witter needs Hatton and not the other way around.

Tell me what's Witter done in his career?

Mayweather was amazing. Incredible accuracy, power and control. Great energy consevation and he really boxed in the true sense of the word Worthy pound for pound greatest.

Hatton has a heart of a lion and just lacked the nous to make his gameplan work. Seemed to get frustrated with Mayweathers deliberate spoiling tactics. Good effort but the better boxer won.
