What I was referring to as tiring is how they often share an injoke and then feel the need to explain to the listener that it is an injoke. Would imagine that the majority of listeners know that there is a connection between the two lads and know when something is an injoke or personal to the two lads, and as such do not need things to be dumbed down to the point of being told a few seconds later that it was an injoke..

Those podcasts just felt so forced and so staged and it was obvious that it was an attempt at damage limitation after what Punk said.
I don't think McMahon being on Austin's podcast was a reaction to Punk. IIRC, there was a PPV or a Raw and it was announced that he was on the following week. Punk and Colt's podcast came out on Thanksgiving and McMahon was on the following Monday so it had to be addressed by Austin. I don't think Austin pressed the issue enough with either Triple H or McMahon because you could tell, both were clearly bull****ting about firing him on his wedding day and them not having any issues with him.

Colt's interview with Punk had also been mentioned weeks before it actually came about and it was made clear that Punk would be getting the air time to get a few things off his chest.

Plus the fact that McMahon on Austin's podcast and Ryback on Jericho's podcast responded directly to stuff Punk had said on Colt's podcast had a whiff of being staged so that some of the sting would be taken out of what Punk said..

I thought Colt's interview with Scott Hall last year was excellent. He really delved into Hall's problems and made the listener make their own opinion about Hall.

I can imagine what Jesse's podcasts are like

It's a shame wrestling doesn't have their version of Ariel Helwani who is brilliant at interviewing guests. You have David Shoemaker and Sam Roberts but both come across as fanbois at times. Great knowledge but don't really challenge the wrestlers with questions. It's also a bit hard considering they play a character as to being themselves like they are in MMA.

Don't think Colt's knowledge is that bad though. His WWE and TNA knowledge is weak but it is pretty strong when it comes to Japanese stuff and a lot of the Indie stuff. Plus he generally has a pretty good rapport with whoever he has on, and is not afraid to touch on topics that other interviewers seem to shy away from. You also get the impression that he is enjoying doing the podcasts.

Jericho is not a good interviewer at all, but ,as I said earlier in the thread, his podcast can be good when the guest is prepared to do all the talking. Would not subscribe to his show but do download certain episodes when there is a band member, wrestler or someone talking about cryptozoology on that I want to hear from.

I tried to listen to Taz a couple of times and found him to be awful. No idea if Jim Duggan has a podcast but don't think I would be rushing to listen to it if he has. Might be a bit unfair to say so, but based on past interviews I would imagine any podcast of his to be boring and horribly dated.

Not a fan of Piper's podcast either although he does get some interesting non wrestling guests from time to time.

Jesse Ventura's podcast I listened to a few episodes of as well as he gets a mix of politicians, wrestlers, oddballs, and nutjobs on his show and it usually means an utterly shyte listen or one that is unintentionally funny.

I agree with you on Jericho. Jericho just comes across as incredibly stuck up and overrates his own ability at times.

Had forgotten about Colt Cabana's podcasts. His would be a notch above Austin's for me.

Do agree that Jericho's can be boring but as I said I think the quality of his podcasts depend upon how chatty/interesting his guests are rather than anything he does. Jericho left to his own devices tends to result in a very "safe" conversation in which he bends over backwards to avoid saying anything that is even in the slightest bit off the beaten track, but when there is a good talker on his show then it can be good.

Jericho's early podcasts were awful though as he seemed to just throw in a nervous laugh after every third or fourth thing his guest said and when he was not throwing that laugh in he was adding a big "WOW!" to whatever the guest said. He has improved though (or maybe has just gotten guests chatty enough to cover up his bland interviewing lol)

I find Jericho annoying and JR a tad bit creepy. Colt Cabana probably has the best wrestling podcast around, from a wrestler standpoint. Wrestling Observer trumps Torch, Grantland and PWinsider.

Jericho's podcast can be entertaining at times as well. Has loads of wrestlers on it as well as guys from bands, tv shows etc. Can be a bit hit and miss depending on the guest as Jericho is not great at teasing conversation out of folk who are not naturally talkative, the Sabu interview being an example of how a guy who likes to give one or two word answers can have Jericho resorting to really generic comments and laughs to fill airtime.

One of his more recent podcasts with Samoa Joe was a good listen though as Joe came across as the sort of guy who likes to engage in conversation.

Point being that there is enough to go around, even if he is good at what he does. WWE has never had the best wrestler as a constant champ have they? It's always the one that they choose and sell the merch with. The title doesn't really matter, entertaining people does. He's always on TV as a focus, and will entertain the pants off everyone at the event. Just not in a match that some want.
Guerrero and Jericho had feuds with Mysterio and Michaels. This is a nothing match.

The fact is Bryan is far more over than Reigns and Bryan was the number 2 seller behind Cena. Don't think Reigns is shifting much.

Your statement about entertaining people is exactly what's wrong with the fan base eating ****. The title should matter. It matters in sport and in every competition. Also, Bryan entertains most people than Reigns does. Bryan v Lesnar is a far better match and something worth looking forward to than Reigns v Lesnar. The crowds going to **** all over this.

The worst person to come out of all of this is Daniel Bryan. From main eventing Wrestlemania, he is now in a match with R-Truth and Stardust. Those guys can't tie his laces. They've done a real job on making him seem like a nothing character. All because he's short, looks like a goat, doesn't look like a superstar etc etc. Forgetting the fact that he was/is over with the audience. At worst, he should be the second over babyface.

Reigns seems to be getting zero reaction which is worse than a negative reaction. No one seems to care about him.
